I love this stuff. The wild horse picture jasper I got from Andy is one of my favourite pieces. The green is so vivid. It's like a piece of candy.

Roy is a mountain/cliff climbing goat!!!! LOL. I have seen him go over some mighty steep places and come back up with a huge hunk of rock on his shoulder! He brought me a hunk of Monarch jasper up from way down yonder.....it has all the colors in it including a area of blue!!! Tony n Roy both have mountain goat in them!!! Oh yea!!!

Hey, tntmom Krystee! I am so glad to see you!! Your cab is spectacular!! Taking a guess, but I wonder if your pretty shiny cab may be Wild Horse picture jasper? I hoped I remembered correctly what you told me the beautiful slab was that you were very kind and sent to me. I would like to polish it. Very nice picture jasp chunks, jakesrocks! roy, I really like the pattern and color of the material you found in your new vein. Thought I would ask again. Where are Palomino, Spiderweb, and Spiderman jasper found? Thanks!

I'm not sure which variation of Owyhee it is.... I've had these slabs for a few years and the bin was just labeled Owyhee???

Yep gingerkid That's Rocky Butte Here is an Owyhee that I finished up and listed last night. Not sure which type of Owyhee it is though? Krystee, I'm guessing either Wild Horse or Spring Mountain. The thin reddish brown outline of the mountains makes me lean more towards Spring Mountain. But there are variations in every one of the Owyhee jaspers.

Couple more varieties. Blue Moon Chicken Tracks. I have just learned that this jasper gets its name from the appearance of the rough when it's freshly mined. The cream colored matrix surrounding the material is said to have raised lines on it that resemble chicken tracks. It comes from Oregon, just north of McDermitt, Nevada. It was mined many years ago, and is supposed to be getting scarce. Owthee Hidden Valley. (Sometimes called Moonshine Jasper). McDermitt Red Rock. (Recent find).

Here's a pair of framed Owyhee picture jaspers that I wanted to share. @rocks2dust posted a thread on the GemAddicts forum of how to secure pieces of rough so they could be framed. Would you like for me to find the thread and post it here, jakesrocks?
