Actually Jan, Mahogony Jasper is from the surrounding area. It comes from Mahogony Mt. in Idaho. It occasionally shows pictures. What is that beautiful slab in your avatar ? The reason I ask is this. A cab I cut many years ago. I've forgotten what the material was. Yes, please do post that link. I'm sure that some will be interested in framing some of their best slabs.

Oh, that's a beautiful cab, Don! I'm wondering if it may be Biggs? Thanks for sharing more about the Mahogany jasper. May we share picture jaspers from different localities in your thread? Thank you for your kind comments on the slab. It's a Deschutes that I received from @rocks2dust. ETA - (Wanted to shout out to captbob - glad to see you posting again and that you are feeling muchos better!) Here's @rocks2dust's thread about framing materials (please scroll through the thread for his instructions): Please highlight, copy and paste link since I cannot get the link to display correctly gemaddicts.com/forums/index.php/topic,1410.0.html He also has a thread about how to tell the difference between Biggs and Deschutes. Would like for me to see if I can find it? Sure wish he would pop in on the forum.

Jan, I'd like to keep this thread for Owyhee and near by picture jaspers. Maybe someone can start another thread for picture jaspers around the world or something.
Please do post that link. Things like that are valuable resources for all of us.

jakesrocks, I'm confused, lol. Would you like to have Oregon picture jaspers in your thread? Read more: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/69856/picture-jaspers-owyhee-area-oregon?page=5#ixzz3UNULJSGUJan, Owyhee is eastern Oregon, so yes. There are also some very nice picture jaspers that come from near the Owyhee area. Willow Creek, Biggs, Bruneau Etc. that can be included. Just don't want to get African, Chinese and other picture jaspers mixed in. Lets try to limit it to the extreme N.W. corner of the U.S.

ROFL, jakesrocks. Jake is a damn good dog!!!! Georgia Bulldog fans always call their mascot, UGA, "damn good dog!" They even made a documentary by the same name for the UGA 'dynasty,' lol.
