Is this better Jan ? So many threads. Hard to keep up with all of them. Autumn Hope. Central Oregon. Need help with this one. It came labeled as picture jasper, Eastern Oregon. Anyone know the variety ?

jakesrocks, I deleted the threads but wanted to joke with you after seeing jamesp post that you made the iron wood cab in 1890 and the bicycle. Those are beautiful slabs, and wondered if the second one may be Disaster Peak since it has 'hill formations' similar to the ones seen in it. I don't know, but hope someone may identify it for you. I think where the Disaster Peak picture jasper is found is in eastern Oregon, and west of the Owyhees. ??

Krystee, Willow Creek isn't considered Owyhee. But it comes from the surrounding area, which I'm including in this thread. There are just too many nice picture jaspers from near the owyhee's, to leave them out.
Love your first 2 slabs. Especially #1.

It does look like Biggs, but there are a number of other picture jaspers which could fit also.

Rocky Butte, showing the variation that can occur in the same deposit. These will both become display cabs. The yellow in the first piece is actually more of a brownish yellow color.

Very interesting images from everyone. Thanks to all for posting them.
The first of these came from a friend in Boise who was very familiar with the Owyhees. He labeled in "Goldrush View or Jackpot Mine." I can find a Jackpot location but not Goldrush View. Any help?
The second two show the variations that can occur in material from the same location, which happens to be the same as Don's above.
Labeled Goldrush View or Jackpot Mine

Thanks for posting those Rick. I've heard the name Jackpot Mine in relation to one of the varieties of picture jasper. I'll see if I can find it again, and put a variety name to your first pic.
In just a few days I'll be getting a package of 5 variations of the Chicken Tracks jasper. I'll post them as soon as I can.

Is Willow considered Owyhee? Here's some slabs I got...... (Ignore the price tag, trade) holy cow. #2 is one of the nicest slabs of willow I've ever seen! wow.

Heres a few more I cut this week a few Owyhee Gem or Original Owyhee, whichever you prefer to call it. Willow Creek Both of these slabs are from the same rock, just turned 90 degrees. I will show more as I find them or cut them as we go along. Tony
