Jan, I'm sure there are more color variations from that area. I should have another killer slab of Chicken Track in a couple of days. Gonna cut a long rectangle display slab out of it.

Blue Deshutes Deschutes "Martian Landscape" Possibly Mr. Hoot Elkins' toolmarks on the back of "Martian Landscape?" Deschutes (has some "fleabites" from possibly rubbing against other slabs) Framed opalized Deschutes Opalized Deschutes Biggs tumble Have some pics of the Blue Biggs large tumbles and slabettes in my collection, but I did not take the pics. Also cannot locate a photo of a Biggs suiseki. Will try to get pics later and post them.

WOO HOO, got something different coming in a few days. A slab of dendritic Biggs that has been heat treated in a kiln. The heat treating brought out some nice purple colors.

One of 3 new slabs I got today. Called Desert Sand, it's listed by the seller as a rare variety of Wild Horse jasper.

PPJ Granddaughter thinks this looks like a polar bear. I believe this is Owyhee. Didn't see it until it was held this way.

Beautiful slabs, Gentlemen!! Don, I love your Desert Sand slab and the colors/patterns in it. woodman, I think your Biggs is sweet and the polishing on it looks great! ...A slab of dendritic Biggs that has been heat treated in a kiln. The heat treating brought out some nice purple colors. Has this one arrived yet, jakesrocks? I don't think I've ever seen a heat-treated picture jasper, but remember Mrs. Pat's heat-treating experiment with Marra Mamba. I think it was Marra Mamba? Mrs. Pat? I have a slab that has a purplish-colored sky that Krystee tntmom sent to me that is very pretty. I think it may be Biggs, but not sure. I'll try to take a pic of it and post it to see if y'all may be able to help identify it.

Arrived yesterday Jan, along with 3 other slabs. I haven't had a chance to take pics yet. I'll try to get them up this afternoon.
The colors in that Desert Sand are beautiful when it's wet. Can't wait to get it polished.

Here's the heat treated Biggs dry. Wanted to get a wet pic outside, but the wind is gusting over 50 MPH. Heat treating does weird things. Tap this piece with your fingernail and it rings like a bell. More from yesterday. Succor Creek. Deschuttes Owyhee Mtn. Dendritic

Thank you jakesrocks Don!!!!!! You just identified slabs that I have had for a long time and didn't know what they were!!! Owyhee Mountain Dendritic! Regarding the cab I posted earlier.... I was digging through my buckets and found the end cut that I cut the slabs from. Cripple Creek is written on it.

gingerkid Not marra mamba. I think it was mookaite, and coral from jamesp. Can't find the thread. Did it in a toaster oven using a bed of sand from a friend.

jamesp Guess you don't remember sending it! That's okay, James! Love your coral and bryozoans. I remember. I thought maybe you had done a heat treatment. I misunderstood. I wish more of you western folks would heat some of your fine agates and jaspers. I would think you would get some wild colors.
