The article is yet another poorly conceived effort to lend credibility to the global warming theory, which has been seriously compromised by the lack of warming, combined with the exposure of G/W proponents faking numbers (East Anglia University email scandal, hockey stick nonsense, NASA shifting measuring points from northern stations to those located in warmer, more southerly climes, etc.). Between these and Algore's lies, it's increasingly difficult to gin up support for chicken little, but they'll keep trying. Global warming is, after all, the statist's perfect justification to institute the tyrannical rule that they crave so strongly. It's for our own good, after all...
C.S. Lewis warned that "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." Of this sort are those who seek to control our lives in order to "save the planet", "help the children", "solve poverty", or whatever.
Please save us from all such.

Wampidy,
I believe you missed my point entirely.
Millions of children are suffering at the hands of man, some from pollution and some from the oppression of sectarian/totalitarian governments, some from whacky religious fervor (mostly in the middle east/Africa), and some from environmentalist whackoism, as in the elimination of DDT for mosquito control in Africa, from which some estimate that literally millions have died as a result of malarial infection. But not one, no, not one, has died from man-caused global warming.
There certainly are real issues out there, and pollution is one of them. But CO2 is not a pollutant. It is arguably, the basic building block of all life on earth. To turn CO2 into a big bugaboo is a master-stroke of leftist propoganda, and an example of people of questionable character using a false premise to justify controlling your life and mine. I refuse to willingly allow them that control. Mrs. Cleaver and I enjoy making our own decisions.

Are big internet words kind of like big internet balls?
I do not give a rats ass whether the planet is heating or cooling, we are killing ourselves and most everything else on this planet except for maybe cockroaches and ants and if you, and everyone else, do not start doing something about it you are going to kill my decedents.
What decisions have you and Mrs. Cleaver made to help save the efin planet? Or do you just sit around and quote other people that may or may not know shit about whatever?
If you want people to listen, whisper. Not mine. Jim

@wampidy Jim, I think it's commendable of you to choose to live such a spartan lifestyle, and I tend to agree that less consumption for it's own sake is a good thing for society plus it really makes ones life a lot more peaceful. The thing I'm noticing is that it's not giving you much peace, and certainly your ranting like a Bible thumping hell and brimstone preacher isn't winning anyone to your cause. megalotis made a fine point, and history bears it out. After the civil war, during the period we call reconstruction, for every true re-constructionist in the south there were a half dozen self serving carpetbaggers out there to make a buck off of the misery of others. It is indeed possible that the roots of the racial tensions we experience today came from that "reformation". We have it again today, you can deny it all you want but it's right there in your face. Google the word "green" and once you get past the color and the city in Oregon it's nothing but products for sale. Products that took energy to manufacture, almost always much more energy than it will save you over it's lifetime. That makes it a SCAM. No big letters, Daves balls are much bigger

Are big internet words kind of like big internet balls? Dang it megalotis, no using multisyllable words! And, YOU 1dave, ought to know better than to use large font sized words! criminy... and now this gem... (sorry, there may be big words in the linked text) Humans will be extinct in 100 years says eminent scientistphys.org/news/2010-06-humans-extinct-years-eminent-scientist.html(PhysOrg.com) -- Eminent Australian scientist Professor Frank Fenner, who helped to wipe out smallpox, predicts humans will probably be extinct within 100 years, because of overpopulation, environmental destruction and climate change.
He said he believes the situation is irreversible,
Fenner said that climate change is only at its beginning, but is likely to be the cause of our extinction.Much more at linked story, including enough big words to make your head hurt! Good news is that this fruitcake is 95 years old and will soon be extinct himself.

If you want people to listen, whisper. Not mine. Jim So we should listen because Cooks study proves that 97 percent of scientists agree that there's man made global warming? What if I told you that he ever asked a single scientist, he got the data from published papers, and he refused to release the data for peer review. Or that when a hacker got to the data and released it they found that less than 1% of the papers claimed that over 50% of climate change is human caused. The IPCC says over 90%. Here's some good information, I suggest you start at about 24:30 and watch to the end. You will probably want to view the entire video after that, if you are open minded at all...

Ya'll are like a broken record with "no global warming" no matter what other topic comes up. I said NOTHING about global warming and I have not once said everyone should live like I do. I am talking about everyone needing to do their part. You do not have to live like me to recycle or not buy soda and water in plastic bottles. That is not GREEN it is trying to not enlarge a Texas sized collection of plastic out in the middle of the Pacific. Now I know that you do not go there but don't you think it has just a smidgen of importance. Has anyone checked out the dead zone around the mouth of the Mississippi. Something as simple as not flushing out dated medicine helps. Spreading the word helps. Do any of you realize that we have come close to depleting the ocean of fish. What's the loss of one food source when we have so many others. NOT Do you think that the only thing boiling out of the smoke stack is co2? Tell that to these people. Oh, but that is on the other side of the world. Who gives a damn about a few million Chinese dieing from lung disease, there are too many of them anyway. Other country breakdown. Not sure how old this is but just about every third world country is increasing their manufacturing and this shows what else is coming out of that stack. If all that stuff is not a problem what is with all the "quit smoking to live longer" bs that has been going on. Should we switch to smoke to live longer? There are hundreds of little things that we can all do that does not require people to move out of their ivory towers. If ya'll would spend half of the time you spend researching and debunking global warming on researching things you can do that take almost no effort. This country is going down hill really bad compared to the other leading countries in everything from education to military. Lee#2 will check this out down to the penny but the way I hear it we have a larger military budget than the rest of the world combined and loosing ground. Corporate big shots paying themselves more than they can spend and giving back squat as far as production of arms that work. Has anyone joined "Move To Amend" to help end corporate person hood? Has anyone done anything other than bitch about no global warming. I am not looking for friends, I am trying to get people to actually do something that counts but I think I am................ Jim

Or you think there are none. ggggaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Jim

I am not a global warming advocate so ya'll are preaching to ? each other I guess. Dave's balls are bigger than what? I have met Dave and I am quite sure my balls are as big as his. We have WAY more in common than we have in differences and I consider him a friend even though he unfollowed me for a while because I was pushing his buttons. hahaha Jim

That is not GREEN it is trying to not enlarge a Texas sized collection of plastic out in the middle of the Pacific. Now I know that you do not go there but don't you think it has just a smidgen of importance. I have a water filter and I wish they would use a lot less plastic in packaging, does that make me ok? Some say the plastic "island" is not at all like they say, but I've never been there. Still, when you purchase something and you toss more mass of packaging than the item you bought something is wrong.Has anyone checked out the dead zone around the mouth of the Mississippi. Yep, definitely a problem, agree we should not be trading with ChinaOh, but that is on the other side of the world. Who gives a damn about a few million Chinese dieing from lung disease, there are too many of them anyway. Other country breakdown. Not sure how old this is but just about every third world country is increasing their manufacturing and this shows what else is coming out of that stack. Yep, and we should give Obama fast track to ensure more of it?If all that stuff is not a problem what is with all the "quit smoking to live longer" bs that has been going on. Should we switch to smoke to live longer? There are hundreds of little things that we can all do that does not require people to move out of their ivory towers. If ya'll would spend half of the time you spend researching and debunking global warming on researching things you can do that take almost no effort. Did you watch the end of the video I posted? The root of the problem is economic and requires economic solutions. Our lifestyle of waste mimics the way our so called leaders operate.I would not be surprised if most of the people on here are doing many of those little things, even those forced on us by law that are largely ineffective. Thanks for the kudos, I think. The military spending numbers published by those who oppose it are fabricated for the most part. The waste and poor return on spending is real. Has anyone joined "Move To Amend" to help end corporate person hood? When I talk to those folks about including labor unions they tend to freak out.Has anyone done anything other than bitch about no global warming. I am not looking for friends, I am trying to get people to actually do something that counts but I think I am................ Jim, if you can PM me later.Jim

All you really need to know is that climatologists have admitted that they fudged the data to get grant money.
Does that make any difference to the liberal mind? No!
And I meant to shout that DITTO, but that was as large as it would allow me to go or it would have been bigger!

All you need to know (if you would have read above) is that I am not on the global warming band wagon and I should have put my rant in another place.
Pollution of all kinds is way out of hand and if people do not get off their asses and start being concerned about it it won't matter. You do all this research on useful stuff like getting whacked in the head to become a genius but no research of the pollution that is killing a large share of our food sources. Maybe you do not believe that is a problem either. It would make a really nice thread for someone that likes to do the research.
Shouting and yelling at people is rude and obnoxious especially for people like bosses, husbands, fathers and etc. Pretty much makes people just walk away. Jim
