Around the corner from me, some of my neighbors are coexisting with a feral chicken someone set free when they moved away a year or more ago. I guess you could call it a "free range suburban" chicken, lol. Really surprised a coyote hasn't gotten it by now. She is great for eating bugs, but leaves behind large piles of chicken doody everywhere. She even lays eggs in their yards. Most of the neighbors would like to see it gone, but have been unable to catch it.
Sorry for the big buildup, but just had to explain it first. Whenever I see that chicken loose in the neighborhood, it never fails to elicit a smile from me. Maybe you'd smile, too, IDK. (Hope it was worth it.) Mooving on...
I always get a kick out of pet photos on the internet. Always get a smile, sometimes a chuckle, out of me.
Now that's just too damn funny!
The dog shaming ones tend to get me laughing out loud. (But not quite rolling on the floor.) Just a few of them -
Same idea, but with chalk (and twice the fun!)
Oh no!
Should've had them sent electronically...
Butt and crotch sniffing/licking a recurring theme
Not shaming, but funny none the less
This is not a test (you will not be graded), or a contest (there is no single winner, the winner is all of you!). Think of it as a challenge. Post whatever it is that makes you smile, laugh, feel warm and fuzzy inside, whatever.
I hope you don't find this subject boring. Now git to it! Jean

This is Cody in the pool I made for her. She passed away last October, but every time I see a picture of her I smile. Other than that? Well, pissing off liberals is extremely high on my list. A great box of rocks arriving in the mail. Pretty women. warped humor - like this: My wife pulling in the driveway. old photo albums dolphins and....... BOOBIES !!!

Ha ha ha, now that got a chuckle out of me, captbob! (Still not rolling on the floor yet, though.) We really do love our animals, maybe childless couples more so? Your Cody is a beautiful girl, I'm sure she led a totally spoiled life (even if it was on the wrong coast.) Love the free cat sign. Totally warped, you can say that again! mohs, you are right, I DID see that one coming. Hot as it's been, that would definitely make me smile. In fact, I'm am eating just a liddle bit of ice cream right now. (Shhh, don't tell anybody.) This thread is a thinly veiled attempt to lighten the mood a bit here on RTH. Does nobody else have something that makes them smile? It doesn't have to be animals, can be anything. So, who wants to help out next?

Wow, so many things. Pretty sunrises or sunsets, butterflies, bald cypresses when they first green up in spring, the big ole smile on a little kids face first time they get on a horse, the first bite of a fresh peach, armadillos, a big ole plate of chicken fried steak, any kind of baby critter, bluebonnets, soaring birds of prey, thunderheads, a good tight group at the pistol range, my favorite horse, Blue, when I take his bit out and he gives a big ole toothy grin and yawns, reading Cannery Row and Sweet Thursday, a ketch under full sail, just to name a few....Mel

What makes me smile ? Why Indy cars from back in the 50's when they still ran the Offy 4 bangers. Nothing quite like the sound of one of those growlers at full speed.

Thanks, everybody! Y'all have really gotten into it. Here's one more I meant to post:
Dude, we shouldn't have eaten that pot brownie
Love those expressions! Brings back some memories...
Now, if that didn't make you smile, there's something wrong with you!

I admit I posted this in Bob's random thoughts and questions thread too... it does make me smile - a lot, but the question begs the answer.

While trying to think of things that make me smile I realized that almost all of the things I could think of were not visual, but most were sounds. The sound of the lake whether it is lapping or roaring and booming, the sound of the brook, the wind through the trees, the sound of chimes and bells, almost all of my favorite music, the sound of kids playing. Chickens talking to each other- they have actual conversations, did you know ? Crackling leaves underfoot in the fall, can't post photos of those. something to play with and hear some awesome bells! www.soundsurvey.org.uk/index.php/survey/soundacts_re1/religious1/274/

Newly found grand daughter and gg daughters. Grand daughter went missing with her mom and we had not heard anything until this summer when my son finally found her. I had not seen her since she was a baby. My son had her until she was about three and one day while he was at work her mother stopped by, picked up the baby and disappeared. It is a joy to have her back. Jim

Another of my first gg baby at 11 months. Went to his first birthday party about a month ago and as usual he performed well. His shy move with watermelon. [/URL] I think he likes green. That has to be the reason he is digging in like that. Jim
