May be hounding next week along the Mississippi River for pet wood and agate. Keeping fingers crossed I wish I would have remembered that you are into pet wood. I would have sent a couple of sweeties. Jim

Oh, come on Jim. The mail goes everyday, and when you live in the deep south where the mud is on top of everything, all pet wood from your neck of the woods if of interest and somewhat distinct from some of the spectacular stuff that does exist under that mud. Just saying . . . support your local postman's job. Tom

Just a small one, modest size. It has a natural shine on the one face.

Still new to this, but we think this is Pet Wood. Found in a Havasu wash.

That is a beauty. Looks like it has some opal in it. Great find. Jim

Love looking at the variety of pet woods. Will try to get a photo of my AZ, WI and ND finds together. they are all quite different looking.

I don' t even know what any of this is other than petwood. This is what I mostly find around and about. The Coors can was given to me 35 years ago. I've been picking up petwood a few years longer than I've been picking up old beer cans. Group of common stuff. This one is odd. Found this in the cobble mix in the landscaping at my local bike store. I asked the owner if I could have it. He said sure but I needed to have a shot of Jame-o with him first (I should have been a bike wrench). Amazing piece completely agatized or opalized or whateverized. I imagine it's pet-bamboo, but like I said I don't even know what any of this stuff is. This one is fun. We found this on a friend's property on the Grand Mesa in Grand Junction about a year ago. The vein is completely crystalized. My wife found it (I think) and we keep it on the windowsill above the kitchen sink. Great thread, Colin

I think hte wood is just a bit older than the Coors can. The wood probably tastes better, too.
