I wold move down here if it was not for wife; she is home girl w big family close by. She hates Florida except to visit. My family here.
Well,on a ATV excursion 10 miles back in the forest I hit a little wash and my bulletproof camera bounced out of the basket and shattered the LED screen. This time I should get a warranty replacement.
Stopped to hunt arrowheads last night on way to supper and walked up on nasty euro hog w 4 babies.She ran in front of her babies and was snorting at me. Thankfully turned tail and took them in the forest. Jet black, babies about 60 pounds. Long nose long hair, nothing I want to socialize with.
ATV overheats, so I always target a water hole to cool it off in. Found the sink using smart phone gps. Man has that smart phone come in handy, for weather radar too. It was the only water for a two mile radius. Lots of animal traffic. Had dead Dog Fennel stalks sticking up telling that it had gone completely dry last year, a la no fish. No gator trails. No snake trails. That forest is a desert. Year round water holes have a lot of traffic in this dry season. Follow the money trail/follow the water trail. Drove ATV out to where engine gets in water, remove boots, walkout, explore, come back and put boots on sitting on ATV, drive it out. Dry feet, no jungle rot.

I usually go to eat night meal in Astor 15 miles away on south end of lake. I think @shotgunner explored that section. Drove in on way to see that area. Large flooded forest for several miles to lake. Forest w/no standing water so easy to walk in due to dry season. Nice floor w out scrub. Heavy root base to prevent sinking. Aquatic plants germinating in mass.Great time for reptile and seedling collecting. During really wet seasons the road is half under water and is only high spot for miles. Every mammal in the forest on the road. Great time to see the wildlife. Airboats use the road then and those w 4WD.
Only seen one snake, Florida Rat snake, yellow w black stripes. Wet season is snake time, water covers their nesting areas.
Today cousin Ed is coming over w his dune buggy. Guessing we will go on a journey.
I go take a photo of the sunrise every morning to post on wife's FB just to piss her off. All her girlfriends raising hell about me having too much fun.How long has he been there? What is he doing down there ? He probaby has a woman. When is he coming back? What if he stays ? Damn soap opera. Hope they go crazy.
Gotta start rounding stuff up for departure. Pre-organizing passively.
Modified my water heater. A 200 foot coil of 1.5 inch poly black pipe sitting in sun. Turn pump on and slowly open valve tO push water out. On a sunny day it puts out about a gallon per minute hot water on the fly. Let it sit an hour and it is too hot. So let it trickle to moderate temp. The neighbors always yell before coming around corner, have a reputation as the neighborhood nudest always in the 'redneck' pool. Many of them have copied me since they about all have artesian wells. Me no longer the only nudest.One day I was in my birthday suit and a car full of sorority girls drove in to smoke pot I think. I did not see them and they did not see me till it was too late. Should have seen them pack up and haul ass. Me rofl. Was waiting for police to get me for being a perv. But they were the ones trespassing. Bet they won't return. Several other interesting events have occurred involving my pool.One was inebriated single neighbor in pool when I drove in whom I covered with a beach towel and returned her to her house. Don't think she remembered the incident lol
Oh well, better run. Time to get moving.
