I thought they would not rust after being seasoned from cooking with oil. Can't see that holding true though. After sitting a while it must rust. Indoors cast iron and my carbon steel wok must have occasional attention to avoid rust in my dry climate. Outdoors, 304 it is! |

Makes perfect. Nothing keeps carbon from rusting in our humidity. Yes, cast iron better but still rusts.

I like a perfect flat top grill,no holes,just pure steel plate.....Makes the best burgers in the world....

I clean my collards in the wife's(clothes) washing machine ha. But it takes a lot of surface area to cook both of those veggies, including many others. Add fried rice. Burger or steak on a slab of hot steel-delicious. |

As cold weather came down on the NW US in early September I knew trouble had arrived. Washington state alone ordered 4 fire pits in 2 days September 2-3. As the cool air swept the nation this month sales went off the chart. Was sure that this was going to happen judging from high sales in a hot August. Vive la cold weather, bring it on. James in a fight. Ground and pound.  |

So, what are you going to do with the four free hours today after you finish these orders? I have a feeling you have this down to a science and can turn them out like other people flip burgers. Not saying it is easy, just that you have it down to as easy as possible. Inginudity rules. Somehow you seem to always giterdone.
Envy. I always goterdone but did not have the business sense that you have. I just hope you do not blow out your back if you haven't already. Downfall of the hoo-man-bean.

Jim Being a production junkie I do have a sick easy schedule. Always got a buzz doing difficult easy. Will spend huge money on best tool for job. Spend hours thinking easiest way. Almost a, no, is a fetish. Biz sense, not. Just polite/on time/quality conscious. Got a hobby welder on the hook. Big strong guy. Been knowing him. Fun dude. He is out of work for the time. He will get well paid. Me not greedy w/hard workers. |

You are a lucky guy because good help can be hard to find at times. Lots of people looking for a job not work.
When I was a youngster I asked an old rancher for a job. He asked me if I was looking for a job or looking for work. I told him I thought they were one in the same and he hired me on the spot. He was a good dude and he taught me a lot. I have tried to pass his wisdom along to the guys that worked for me or with me. I have a feeling you do the same.

Times are changing, a lot of the young folks are a bit empty or at least come across that way. If I have to do things myself that is fine. This business is designed that way; don't have a lot of faith in hired help. Biggest problem is the liability. People get free rides by claiming they got hurt on the job. Best to be suspicious or hire people you know well. |

Hired my friend James as a part time welder/fabricator. We knocked out 40 intermediate rings welded to 40 pedestals and bent 60 intermediate rings. Big accomplishment.  |

Been using a big clunker Harbor Freight plasma cutter for years. Not so powerful. Runs on 220VAC.
A new wave of tiny super cutters have hit the market. About the size of a shoe box and plugs into 110VAC wall socket.
Going to get this one. Rated for 5/8" plate, about right for my needs. Can get them for much thicker.

I bought a gun from a pawnshop. When I went to pick it up (10 day wait) they had been robbed. The sold an "air knife" to a dude. He came back that night busted in, used said air knife to access the safe. He got away with 30+ handguns. Fortunately, not mine!  |

I mean, you would have had to go through all the paperwork again, and start another ten day wait period! I'll bet the pawnshop owner was just sick over it, knowing he sold the tool of destruction to the thief, who then used it against him.
Did I ever tell you, I HATE THEIVES! String 'em all up! Or maybe start removing digits, hmmm....

Or maybe start removing digits, hmmm.... The shop owner is the dude I did biz with. He was sick, because most of those were pawned items he had to be imburse his clients for. Some were sold, and just a couple were inventory (he owned them). He was also on the warpath. Considering how many firearms he has access too, he actually had to stay home a day or two to decompress. |
