Beware of sneaky jamesp. Smoking cigarette, filming(deer hears zoom mechanism), and pointing a bolt action
Note she did not hear anything till 2 seconds into the video when the zoom was activated.

A poor French immigrant family been in Texas then Arizona following the harvest and picking and boxing veggies and fruit. Sitting around the kitchen table and just a reachin and a eatin. Then ma said to paw," You just see what our boy Clifford done drug throught tha mashed taters?, We be a needin to put long pants on that boy" Yep and from then on, or at least after they caught me, been awearin long pants. Shoes one pair a year and baredfoot all summer. Life was good back in the day.. sigh...

New fire pit. Sawed off(plasma cut) 41 inch hemispherical bowl to sort of a Wok shape. 36 inch bowl, 48 inch table top, 30 inch base. Has a 49" cover.

Yea, the bowling ball just for size reference, table surround just smaller than diameter of bowling ball.
I got a bunch of those bowls with wavy lips so I came up with a way to use them. Table top hides the wavy edge @shotgunner.

New Pit is absolutely breathtaking jamesp! Thanks a bunch Mellisa. Those things are fun to build. Mix and match all kinds of bowl shapes, pedestals, and middle ring heights. If you come back thru Atlanta let me know. Much less busy now.

jamesp , the new design is going to be a seller for sure . Just don't expect your cold beer to stay cold sittin on the table . That rig might be better for the coffee wigglin, Henry . A lot of people use the optional full cover for a tabletop when not burning. Often ask to not have the folding handles welded to the top so as to make room for more beer. My wife collects bowling balls for garden ornaments go figure notjustonePerhaps a few should be snuck out and cut up for bowlerite tumbles.

Client in Temecula California had me weld handles to hold pit in stone surround. WOW they keep getting cooler and cooler! We are leaving for William Holland again this Friday. Want to get to the sluice mine when it opens Saturday morning 😂 was thinking about hitting Summerville Sunday! If you are up for a meet and greet over some rocks we could meet there. If that's not possible we could stop by and say howdy on our way back home the following weekend. Reply here or PM me to discuss hon

Let's see what's happening closer in melhill1659. What are y'all after in Summerville ? If you get a chance could you ask those guys up at the school if they know where soapstone deposits are. Killer soapstone in those hills near your school. We oughta set up a trip to Hogg Mine if you've never been. I have been thinking about going down there and scouting a bit. Been a long time. There Do you go I-20 or cut down to I-10 ?

Several to Hollywood. LA area is big market. Emphasis area, that is a big urban blob. I usually loose on shipping there. Average about $250-$280 to ship them there. Oak Harbor is the freight carrier. Some of the fussier clients, maybe particular is a better description.

Summerville trip (I'm thinking Summerville Agate) will be the Sunday we actually have to check in to WH. We're checking in early on Saturday to go sluicing and won't have anything we have to do until 5 Sunday afternoon. So plans aren't set in stone, so to speak. I'll ask about the soapstone hon and hope to see ya!

I'll ask about the soapstone hon and hope to see ya! Will figure something out. I am spoiled by the Hogg Mine years back when it was open for free. Before they started picking it clean and using heavy machinery to harvest rock. Used to load pick up trucks with basketball sized chunks. It was a big spoil pile where the government had piled tons to get the beryl crystals out of the rose quartz. There was a cooking grill mortared of the turquoise colored beryl crystals. No doubt collectors dismantled it to get the crystals. all 1 to 2 feet long. There was another rose quartz exposure about a mile away. The road cut through it. It required big hammers to remove the stuff. Probably posted by now. The whole area has quartz crystals for some reason. Even timbered areas around there had crystals where the timber operations exposed ground. But land owners have probably gotten upset by people romping around as the area became famous for crystals. The gas station on the corner just up the way from the Hogg entrance is peppered with small quartz crystals in the little bank adjacent to the parking lot. I should take a trip down there and stomp around. i doubt the area has had much fresh grading, it is out in the sticks. Maybe it has become more commercial. Ah, I will look on google earth
