This is Alan spitting out fire pits. He has done work station type work before. Talented at work flow. Great candidate to assist work flow. He has dialed in his work flow. Modifications to table locations and heights for tool presentation and cable flow to follow. Tool cost is not an issue. Whatever it takes. Considering a hydraulic table for quickly changing work heights and lifting of heavy bowls. He is presently producing 12 units in 5 to 7 hours depending on bowl size. Targeting 12 units in 4-6 hours. With less effort/lifting. Either way, he gets $500 for 12 units. Some take longer than others, but that's the deal. Me happy, Alan happy. It behooves him to tell me what modifications need to be made to further efficiency and worker comfort. About time for a chalk board. Prison wall tally system ?

You have an amazing deal and you are still willing spend more to make his work more efficient. Great boss!! You could say driven by greed lol. Improve his work set up and improve production. Can't do things the hard way. It is a strong desire to make work easy and efficient for humans. He is a production manager. Great production strategist. He set up 4 positions around the work table that improved the flow. It required more grinders and buffers, so what. I used his arrangement and found it better than the arrangement I had perfected for 2 years. Not going to claim to have a better way. Not about me, it's about the best way. He wants to get out of the people management biz. May end up selling him the business.

Took me most of last night and this morning to read this post amazing Well I hope you found it entertaining zzyzzyx. Apparently you did. Starting a new endeavor. I get calls from the rich and famous to build giant fire pits. Tired of turning them down, and they don't give a damn about the cost. All that needs to be done is figuring how to handle them at 350 and 450 pounds. Larger bowls if these sell at 650 pounds and 1000 pounds. I do have a barn with 2000 pound hoist capability, looks like the place to build them. Unloading today if the hydraulic lift behaves

Are these bowls magnetic? They are. Looked at a lifting electric magnet. But they lack lifting power when the load turns 90 degrees. The tricky part about attaching to them with a lift is they lay flat and usually lift from the edge which turns them 90 degrees on edge making grab points tricky. So a simple single grab point rigging clamp has to allow for that 90 degree rotation.

This fellow stopped by and bought a fire pit yesterday. He was intrigued with my farm, hmmm. Need dead people.
