Hi, I'm new to this forum and would really appreciate some help identifying something please? Today I was digging out the garden at my home in Staffordshire, England when I came across what looks like a large green rock or stone about the size of my hand. Some parts are rough and some look chiseled and shiny. I've never seen anything like it before and the green really caught my eye! It is quite heavy! I have photos but can not see an option to upload them to this thread. Any thoughts and help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks

Welcome To RTH!
From your description I thought of a relic of Stonehenge I thought that was constructed with greenstone But its bluestone but who knows?
anyway we all want to see a picture so you'll have to join a picture hosting site like Photobucket to upload your interesting greenstone picture to then post it on RTH
good luck !

Definitely need a photo to see what you have. Take one photo dry and one photo wet if possible. The wet look often helps reveal true colour and patterns.
In general, green rocks are often "mafic" rocks that are high in manganese and iron. You indicated your rock was heavy, so this is possible. The manganese often provides the green colour.

Welcome Samantha! It's kind of a pain to do the pictures, but once you figure it out, it's a breeze.
