One time this inmate comes to my desk right away in the morning and before he could say a word, another one comes up and tells him, "Man, don't be going up there and asking stupid f*****G questions before he has even had his coffee". Some of these guys pay attention.

Closer to 60 than I am to 50 these days, and I have never had a cup of coffee in my entire life. Not one - ever. Don't even know what it tastes like. Somewhere along the way in my early years, I figured that I had enough bad habits and decided (probably from watching those that MUST have their coffee to function) that I didn't want what seemed to be a crutch to some in my life.
Smells good though.

Did not drink coffee until I was in my 60's. Got really hooked driving back and forth on our Texas move. Now I admit I am addicted. Caffine is a strong addiction too complete with headaches if you don't get enough in your day. Probably not a good thing but I love the stuff now, though I do not drink any hot beverages except soup. Got to have that morning smoothie and I figure at my age what the heck, if it tastes good drink it. I don't consume alcohol or smoke. Man needs some bad habits....Mel

Used to I cold drink coffee all day long and it wouldn't bother me...could nod off with a cup sitting beside my easy chair. As I got older I've had to cut off caffeine in the early afternoon as drinking it late definitely will keep me from sleeping. So, mostly morning coffee for me with an occasional afternoon binge. Of course now a days I go to bed a lot earlier than I used to. Matter of fact, my daughter called a while back at night after we had gone to bed and I politely asked her if she knew what time it was. She politely responded, "Yes sir, it's five minutes 'til eight."....she hasn't let me live it down, either.
