Nice looking stuff. A whole batch of reds are not very common. Your last picture is great. nice lighting and good contrast. Were they taken indoors or out?

Great rocks, great shine, and great photos! Did you use a light box for the photos?

Black slurry ? Hematite can sure make stuff turn black. Cool theme.

Chuck I take all my pictures in the basement. Here's my setup: Nothing fancy, except maybe the light tent. The light on the right is a halogen and the one on the left is just a compact florescent. It's a llittle point and shoot camera.

Black slurry ? Hematite can sure make stuff turn black. Cool theme. I rough tumbled these with other rocks, so they weren't all together to make lots of slurry. In the Lot-O, I don't remember the slurry being anything surprising. When I tumbled a bunch of jaspelite together before, the slurry was pink. Here's the thread from when I did the jaspelite.

Ah, reddish pink slurry. Iron man iron. Looks drinkable, beautiful creamy slurry. Geritol. Gets me excited. The other day I dumped slurry like that in the creek. Stained the creek water for 400 yards downstream for a whole day. Creek critters probably angry. That is some staining compound. Mix some liquid acrylic and have some serious one coat paint. Liking the psychedelic swirls. Tumbled some black rocks from snowmom and got the same result. Guessing hematite galore in those Great Lake rocks. Effect on humans drinking Great Lake water

I wouldn't be dumping my slurry into a creek, just atop the hill in my backyard. I been getting that martian red slurry. Half full of small carnelians. I need another tumbler to just do rough tumbling, be easier. Money management.

Very nice batch once again. The "jaspelite" is very cool. I have found a few down here in the flat lands ... don't really know what they are either.
