You probably won't believe this, I almost said 885, but I didn't want to get too far away from Victor's guess of 875. You might remember he won the guess the mileage game for the Brenda rocks in Q a year ago.

Well thanks, everyone! Diane got the box sent off yesterday, looks like it will arrive here tomorrow. I'll post pics of the SWAG. I just wanted to share with you how I came up with that number. Using Google maps, I put my starting point in Northern Wyoming. That was the first thing I had to make a guess at, since I'm not sure exactly where Russ and Cyndi live in Wyoming. Next, asked for directions to McDermitt, NV. Several different routes they could have taken, but I asked for a route not using toll roads. I avoid those just on principal. If nowyo is anything like me, he's not going to use them, either. (Roads paid for with our gas taxes should be good enough, right?) Besides, figured he was taking the scenic route. So then I just added a percentage (another guesstimate) for them to meander on down to Nevada. That's not cheating, is it? I still had to make some educated guesses... Thank you for the game, Diane!! |

About 870 from here. I could cut about 200 or so off by going through the park but-dealing with holiday traffic is bad enough anyway without dealing with Yellowstone holiday traffic. Russ Aha, so that's where victor1941 came up with 870! I hadn't seen either one of those little hints. Guess maybe I should pay better attention... And to think I was giving Jim wampidytoo hell for the same offense, lol. |

I guessed 860 because it was the Google distance from Cody but I should have added some miles for not knowing how far from Cody he was starting. |
