I have a board in front of me into which I drilled holes to hold dopped cabochons. The dop sticks I use are cut from 7/16" dowel rod. My board measures 10.25" x 16.25" because it fits into the top of the drawer unit my son made for me. I set out to drill as many holes as I can without wasting too much space and without the cabs banging into each other excessively. Things to consider: I tend to make big-ass cabs but I'm also trying to make smaller ones too. Most of my cabs are elongated - but some are not. First person to guess exactly how many holes my new dop holder board carries wins a humble prize of several rough-shaped cabochon preforms. Good luck

You're just trying to free up some holes, aren't you?

How about 90? And BTW, that is a lot of cabs! Do you use superglue with the wooden dowels?

BINGO ! what type of wood is it? I suppose that plays a roll Now you're pushing your luck! j/k - the first one my son made was birch, the first one I made was poplar, and now this one is pine.
