This vibe does great with balanced sizes of quartz family stones. Lightweight plastic media separates and leaves fluorite unprotected to the left. Not gonna work. Never could adjust this out. Does it with too many oversize stones too.

What about using your rice husk mush? That didn't separate did it?

I've always read that plastic media doesn't work in a vibe. I always use ceramic media.

Use marble chips for fluorite. Very soft but harder than plastic.
Is your table level? Like the plastic is rising to the top. Right side of image higher than left.
Or, action uneven end to end.

Heavy media works fine. Never thought about marble. I don't think marble has silica particles ? Shoot, I've run it off level, adjusted counters every which way, all to no avail. Aggravating. Weird things set it off- large rocks, lightweight media, thick slurry. Any of those will send the big stuff to one side and cause separation.

Have you tried swapping the springs end to end?

Marble is calcium carbonate same as calcite and a myriad other forms. 3.5 mohs softer than fluorite (barely) should cushion without damaging the target tumble.

Have you tried swapping the springs end to end? MrP replaced his springs I believe. I think it was MrP. ? I thought about replacing them but was concerned about unscrewing those star bolts out of that aluminum that holds them down. They look well oxidized in place.

Pea marble and the Viking will run like a charm. Would a salt water aquarium shop have pea marble ? Or pea calcite ? Maybe bust up some marble or onyx tiles from Home Depot ? That machine does not segregate with heavy pea sized media. You can put three Mohs 7 baseball sized rocks in with pea media (8-9 pounds media/5-6 pounds big rocks) and good media distribution occurs. That is how I polished big rocks in the past without frost bruises. Love doing that. Horizontal tub vibes all suffer from this segregation issue. Bowl vibes have less problems with segregation.

Not sure if it will work. But if I had the machine I would.try

I am not sure they needed to be replaced but I thought it would help keep things inline. I am not sure there is a way to keep larger stones from moving to one side. I use mine to polish large slabs so I have to rearrange them every once in awhile. Just the nature of the beast, but to be able to vibe polish a 6"X8" slab it is worth a little effort. Haven't even had time to run it this summer, what a shame!..................MrP

Does a slab that size rotate in the tub ? Would have never thought. If tumbling was a one minute operation the one sided thing would not be an issue. After time apparently there is going to be some shifting. On mine the faster the rocks roll the less separation. I went to rounder pea quartz media and the ball bearing effect sped the motion up and helped prevent separation go figure.

I vibe 4-6 slabs at a time and have to separate them a few times a day. I use small pieces from making pendants and busted up junk slabs. The larger slabs actually stay apart longer................................MrP
