As mentioned ... all foreplay ... You're going to hurt my kidneys ... A thousand times people have posted a rock that just has to be sawn. For some reason(no saw available, want to keep the rock whole, a pet rock, a specimen, it's a Fairburn)it never gets sawn. In this case, the rock is sawn and the jackass will not spread it out for it to be seen. Cruel and unusual punishment. A muskrat CAN NOT walk up a small creek without walking up a hollow log. It completely defies his instinct. He CANNOT pass by that hollow log, never. Won't happen. So the reason trappers trap muskrat by putting a hollow log in a small creek and setting a trap in it. The sawn rock is a mental trap. With no chains or clamps. Entrapping it's audience. Perhaps a dissertation should be pursued about this weakness in humanity. A new subject matter for furthering education. Mental entrapment. Perhaps the drug manufacturers will come out with a pill that will relieve certain humans of this vulnerability. Aimed at the rock lovers of the world. The next step would be appropriate photos with an expensive camera and great lighting with a dead sharp focus. On microfiche Perhaps the sawn rock is a piece of nasty granite that was spray painted...

My uncle used to play such mind games. Smart guy, just enjoyed messing with people.
I remember he would be sitting at a table talking with me and smoking a cigarette. He would (seemingly) ignore/forget the cigarette. The ash would grow and grow to the point that there was no way it was staying on the cigarette. One could not help but to watch the cigarette even if trying to have a conversation. He knew exactly what he was doing.
James knows what he is doing. Like a cat playing with a mouse. We are his muskrat!
Torches and pitchforks I tell ya!

Just as titled, nice cuts. This is slabs and saws correct ? So why did the saw not cut thru the rock all the way ? Ideas to solve this problem ? I have had heavy material do that too,it's because of the pressure on the rock when it's about finished being cut,it just breaks off itself before the saw can finish the cut....(see the fracture lines James)... I usually watch the heavy cuts anymore, don't trust them next to my blade...

Carriage needs to be aligned parallel to blade. Easy with Covington. Only have 3/32 inch left on diamonds. MK segmented $$$

That's a bunch of fine wood. I looked at a lot of wood. Those I worked hard to pick from 1-2-3 thousand ? And out of those in the photos maybe 2 dozen are trophy quality. I collected the wood the last 7 days of trip, taped those boxes in brown tape that last week to separate and have not opened a lot of those boxes. Hoping those boxes have some real grade A stuff. Had become better at finding the nicer wood. Found fine wood windows that other hounds left in some locations. They seemed to walk past the fine moss agates. Looks like wood is the big target for collectors there. No problem, much of the wood was totally camouflaged by the skin. Lots of fine wood left.

A veritable smorgasbord, speechless.....and jealous, envious, covetous, etc... Never cared about the beauty in many cases. It is cool to see the various petrifications. Yes, the pretty stuff a bonus but the variety is darn cool. Mom said jealousy would get you no where. Easier said than done Mom. Please enjoy, thanks for looking. Take you a boat to Lake Falcon and sink that sucker with fine rocks. On your bucket list I hope.

You found all that palm on this last trip? Knew you were getting into finding wood, didn't realize you found so much palm. Nice!
