Narrow down what you are wanting. Is size important? Kind of rocks, what tonnage, what you are willing to spend including shipping. Most every person here has "interesting" rocks. I'm thinking you are fishing here. You already have this thread going - forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/77059/rock-tumbling-media"looking for media and stones" Hey guys. I'm looking to buy some stone to tumble Anyone have any interesting rocks they would like to sell? is nonsense.

Man Capt bob you sure are a pleasant person around these forums. Sorry for being an idiot newbie but you also don't have to comment or go through my threads if you don't want. I would like to thank everyone else that has helped this newbie out getting started in this. Yes I do have another thread that went off topic then if you look someone recommended this newbie make a new thread asking if anyone had extra stone. Thanks for your input but I'm not fishing I'm just looking for help. Please don't comment if you're only trying to push someone out of the new hobby.

I encouraged and offered what I considered helpful suggestions to you on your first thread.
This thread has no parameters that make sense... "I want to buy interesting rocks" is kinda vague. So I commented on that.
Call 'em like I see 'em.
carry on

Well obviously it doesn't matter. I'm looking for what other people find interesting to tumble. Maybe their favorite rocks. It really doesn't matter since I'm new I'd like to try what other people like then decide what I like from their. Thanks.

I'm not a tumbler and probably not much help, but if others could chime in about what might be the best things to start off with the most chance of success to get your kids diggin' it, that would probably help, too. And, welcome to RTH. Hope your twins enjoy the hobby.

Awesome thank you very much. I did get an order of mixed rocks from them now just to figure out what each one is. I'll looking those I would say just throw those mixed rocks in and see what happens. Some of them are "softer" than the others and might grind away to nothing quickly. But I think you shouldn't worry too much with your first batch. Get used to the whole process and then you can get picky about the rocks. I still buy a big mixed bag with each order just to keep me guessing. If you need help identifying any of the mixed ones, post a picture.

Well obviously it doesn't matter. I'm looking for what other people find interesting to tumble. Maybe their favorite rocks. It really doesn't matter since I'm new I'd like to try what other people like then decide what I like from their. Thanks. Of course it matters. Which is exactly my point. Details matter. If you interested in finding out what other enjoy tumbling, maybe spend some time reading through the rock tumbling threads at the top of this forum. You could even start a thread in the Totally Rock Tumbling section asking for suggestions and what other experienced rock tumblers might recommend for a beginner level tumbler. We are here to help and offer encouragement. Even me! I just don't tend to sugar coat my posts. Playing the wounded newbie doesn't fly with me. The opening post in this thread is way too vague. You didn't ask what others like to tumble, you asked to buy "interesting rocks". What the heck does that mean? 20 pounds? 50 bucks? 5 batches from different sellers? No clues. So others here are supposed to put together a batch of rocks, take pictures of them and post them here for you to choose what you would like to buy? How many rocks? What do you want to spend? You were asking for someone to do a lot of work with nothing to go on. That's what eBay is for. The suggestion here and on your 2nd thread to check the Rock Shed site is a good point in the right direction. Starting a thread asking for foolproof rock recommendations for an entry level tumbler to try may also give you some ideas.

it took me almost a year of trial and error to get a good polish. I think Montana agate or Brazilian takes a fantastic polish.

Thanks again. I would like to again be vague and let it be a surprise. I don't care how many how big. If someone had something they enjoy to tumble I'd be happy to try it. I don't need to give details of what I want or like if I'm just looking to try what other people like. Thanks again for being so welcoming like the rest
