PVC sizes. Stick with Sch 40 DWV pipe and fittings and you will be ok.
Better yet watch the commercial and institutional construction sights. Much of the new green construction is using Sch 80 pvc for underground waste, this part is called value added construction. Cheaper and faster than cast iron soil pipe. I have my doubts it adds any longevity to the building.
The 'green' part targets 100% recycling. PVC is short for poly vinyl chloride. Not recyclable. Putting it into the recycle dumpsters gets the project managers sniveling. The recycle/trash company employees aren't going to dumpster dive for the pvc, they call the whole load trash. The managers get chewed on by their managers. Best practice is to get to the construction site early, when the underground plumbing is going in. Look to see if its grey in color. Head to the mechanical or plumbing contractor's job trailer. Offer to put on a hot lunch on Friday afternoon. Bring a truck, a couple of brats should get you buried in PVC shorts. Timing is the key, you want the food to arrive when the underground is finishing. No contractor I worked for ever moved the short pieces. I wish I would have started down this slippery slope called lapidary arts last fall. There was enough 6 and 8 inch shorts for all thrown away. 10 and 12 also, but as noted those big fittings are dearly priced. Watch for new health care and university dining facility construction.

36 RPM cleaned up some damage made by the 64 rpm speed experience. These are ready for Lot-O!
