How did the recipients like their new pit? hheheehhehe And, how long did it take 'em to remove the tape?  Dave Heheheheehe Bet Jim couldn't get the tape off to see what was inside. Probably used some exotic cleaner-solvent that ruined the patina. Going to be some complaining there. Bet he's going to be a very unsatisfied customer.

Gave wife all the 24 inch and 30 inch fire pit business. It ships UPS. She sold her first pit. I helped the UPS guy put it in his truck. It came back to the farm the next day. It was supposed to go to California. Look at where she shipped it too:   LOL. Gave her hell. When one of us makes a real stupid mistake we yell "STUPID SH*T" in a most humiliating way. Cant be too hard on a lady that tolerates the mad scientist, jungle man, and puter sales whiz all right there in one ornery package. I get busy like that and bone up. It went out one day and came back the next day. Please forgive. She is totally embarrassed. New UPS tracking number is 1Z1VF483P293045032 They should bring it to your door. Thanks, hope we have not inconvenienced you too much. I posted the affair on my wife's Facebook page. I thought you might get a laugh out of it." ---------------link to wife's FB page and everyone razzing my wife------------------------" Customer's retort: "That is hysterical!! No Problem but a funny story! Have a great weekend!" She bought another pit last year. If I see any shelves deforming or getting bashed by load issues I will quickly reinforce. I will load extra weight on the ends and look for excessive flexing. Any weak spots will be attacked with reinforcement. when I carried it on the old trailer I hardly knew it was on the trailer. It is not heavy. Max load would be 8 X 200 |

Plants and fire pits. Always enjoyed the customers. beats the hell out of corporate politics coloradocliff: I even got a good review from the POA that was complaining about the tape on the fire pit cover on May 17, 2017, Ilia the Russian dancer lol: 5 out of 5 stars "Great quality, great customer service. Wish everybody would do business like this." Had to send her a $30 part for free. what the heck. |

jamesp, that would be the type of customer that you would always want to deal with - sense of humor and understanding. Dave I guess Etsy is a different bunch. That is where I sell most of my stuff. Either I ship to them or they pick up at my home. Not once has an A-hole picked up at the home. And 99% shipped to seem happy as a lark. That is why I cultivate my sales on Etsy. |

Weight 1300 pounds.
Cost to galvanize @ 4' X 6' X 16' = $520. Not bad for life time finish that is totally durable.
Weight of zinc ~ 100 pounds.
photos coming
axles and tires ordered and ready to bolt on
will install whilst on trailer, then roll it off
then must weld tongue and hitch, other stuff

Guessing wheels tongue axles add 300-400 pounds. It's OK, 1700-1800 pound trailer not so bad. I've been tugging 5000 pound loads plus the trailer weight. So small beans. Load will never be over 1800 pounds. 1800 load + 1800 trailer = 3600 = half of truck tow capacity. Easy. Truck will jerk 3600 up hills no effort. |

They gave me the wrong center distance for the axle hangers. Junior employee, I KNEW he should not be relied upon. ALWAYS GET A DRAWING !! Surgery necessary. Thankfully I got short axles which can be mounted under the leaf springs. They are straight and not chambered. Long axles have a chamber and should not be mounted under axle. Will make surgery much easier.     Flipping it over  the wrong hole dims   |

The big debut and thanks for noticing. The zinc as Scott mentioned is no fun. It even plugs up the grinding wheels, These guys put it on thick. Not supposed to breath the fumes which are substantial in quantity when heated. Takes care when welding, zinc gases the weld, can make it porous and weak. A bit of a complicated extension will be required on the 4 ends. Hate wasting time. a bit of a job.   |

Using boom pole and hydraulic lift on tractor to lift structure while installing axle #1. Axles would have been a 2 hour job if supplier had given correct location to weld hanger supports. 12 hard hours removing hangers and relocating. No problem. Long hours on this trailer will save hundreds in time later. Can't underestimate the value of a tool that streamlines work flow and makes job easier. Intention is to get this business well equipped and singing efficiently. Max out annual income, then sell it. Fabrication tooling completed and expendables well researched and documented. Trailer should complete transport issues. May find a battery powered lift with propulsion or fork lift to ease handling. Typical conservative sales price is X3 annual income. SEO gal turned web site on a month ago with all SEO mods. Me did Etsy tune-up. Set sales on fire. Sales ramped to +200% of last year this month. Oct-Dec. probably gonna be pit sales gone wild.
