Just getting the time and having a life. Me too. Pushing my rock up the hill. Am starting to get some properties sold but still haven't gotten anyone to bite on the nursery with that much cash and work ethic. This last nursery of three is the only thing holding me back from getting back into my loafing plan. grin.. Have to be here and be hands on. Hard to find competent help. Oh well, just take my lil black dress and flounce home... grinning at Mel Niters. C

I tried selling my plant biz for several years. No luck. Decided I only have so many years left. Decided to shut down and start tearing it down and sell it as raw land some day. Mine is a dump compared to yours though. Easier decision. Almost finished demolition on one greenhouse. Bummer, spend money and energy tearing down what was built. Ouch. Plant biz kinda died here. Water shortages did not help. Overpopulation putting pressure on water supplies. Lazier or busier new generation. Computers save time in so many ways. But they also encumber in so many more ways. People are changing. Dysfunctional bunch, crippled by cell phone appendages. Need to develop a cell phone implant. I made myself pull the plug on the nursery. Turned the water off and killed everything. Chained myself down till all died. Gave me a different outlook after the killing. Miss it. Love being away from it. Juxtaposition. Retirement time. Take a loss if necessary, move on. US work force sucks, 1 out of 20 worth a damn. can't run high labor biz w/those odds. Neighbor behind me still holding on to his plant biz. Same age as me. He does not get it. He has plenty of money, continues to operate at near loss. Brain is damaged ? Wake up man. He won't listen. Still adding greenhouses, new well and irrigation. He's throwing money away. And a heck of a lot better off than I financially and more skilled at business. Work you into the dirt, hard worker. About sold all my holdings except primary residence and stashed proceeds for retirement. Couple of friends did same thing. I followed their lead.

Do people actually lick rocks? I thought it was just a turn of phrase for people to make fun of pickers(rock lickers!). Luckily for me there is usually some water around for me to rinse stuff off, but I'll spit on stuff if I need to. I get enough sand and dirt in my mouth just walking around, thank you.
Just don't stick your face into any middens or lick any rodents either. Hantavirus and plague are no joke out west.

Down in Texas I was warned not to lick the rocks because of Anthrax. Seems to be a lot of reasons to disinfect your rocks. And on the hanta virus if mice are making nests in your rock buckets it would probably be a good idea to spray the rocks with bleach solution.

Not sure if it's actually Coprolite though. 1dave , what do you know about coprolites? I'll try to find some and get some pictures. Only that if you get into the right time horizon they can be found with "gizzard stones."
