Lots of Czech glass.
There is a blue and clear glass basket with insane with psychedelic markings, artist signed base my melting it in with white glaze. It was another piece I left behind at $40. Workmanship off the chart.

My dad was a watercolor artist and would frequently sell his work over the weekends at Art Exhibits. It was the late 60's, I was between 11 and 15 years old and I would end up trapped at these events for a coupla days but I had free-run of the place and lots of interesting things to look at. But what attracted me the most were 2 Glass Blowers in the area and one of them was always at these exhibits. They would make very detailed art pieces like a Ship, Log Cabin, Animals and other wonderful pieces. I would find out their demonstration schedule and be there everytime they made a new creation. It was hypnotizing to me, it's a wonder I never experimented with that. I can show somebody some wonderfully tumbled rocks for awhile and they will be mildly amazed. Then I will show some poorly tumbled glass and they are instantly interested in getting some of it. The same with pictures posted on my FaceBook page, I can show rocks and glass and people are asking me if they can buy some of the glass. The best stuff I have played with are TV picture tubes or the bottoms of Coke bottles and thick Bar glasses. People are fascinated by the old Green Tinted Coke bottle parts. Because of this I've been wanting to mess around with some more glass and these threads are pulling my attention. So Jamesp . . . How much trouble are you having with Gas Buildup ? I get mixed results, sometimes gas, then maybe not . . . What about Chandolier Pendants ? You and me are fascinated equally by the glass blowers. Mesmerizing those guys. I tried tumbling glass starting 7 years ago and always failed, poor polish and frost. No more, got it dialed in now. And yes, many more requests for glass than rocks go figure woofer. The rotary typically bruises the edges more, the vibe seems to do the frost/bruise thing all over the glass. Same here, sometimes gas sometimes not. I do use caps that are rubber and they expand a lot and allow you to see the gas pressure. Telling you to burp them. Chandeliers, fancy glass, vintage glass - why not ? Glass comes in millions of variations, many make good tumble subjects.

I am dead......seriously in mourning I knew it...... I can guarantee it's not collectors going in there, it's pickers. Sometimes they miss stuff. Especially Muranos. Ive gotten alot of them that way. I agree with fernwood on the other vase. I think it is Czech. I have seen that style. Just have to remember where. I am getting sicker. I knew when I was destroying that vase it was a work of art. Thick clear glass coat over those color blobs. Looked like a spring pond. Found it in a real shit hole and never would have dreamed such a fine piece would be there. Lesson learned. Let me know if you need more photos of the red (Czech ?) piece. No doubt the pontil mark(me doing my homework) has been ground with a diamond ball grinder. And free blown. I need some time to recover from that one -Should I tell the rest of the people following this thread what you just did? It is not even the value that gets to me, that was a stunning piece of art....sigh......I am going to cry when you show the tumbled outcome......
The red one I think is an unknown maker-I am still looking for it The other one I am interested is the multi colored swirled vase-might be a newer piece, but there is something about it.
Promise me you will no longer smash anything till input is given-some of my best pieces where found in little shit holes, (look up Weller Pottery Frog).... you just never know.

Next time count on it. Betcha it is one of the finest glass pieces you ever laid eyes on. Betcha Looked it up on Google images to no avail. Agreed, I don't so much care if it is a $300 value, it is the talent that I destroyed. Got a plan, I will return the valuable ones for tumbling trash vases if shop owner is interested. Then a good home can be found for it. Actually thinking about building a shelf for the valuable ones. Adding on to house soon and can create a shelf area for these pieces. ETA Damn, getting in touch w/my feminine side here

MsAliSome how the artist melted this type (see Miore)pattern using white opaque glass onto the thick clear blue basket. Handle was clear. White glass layer was less the 1 millimeter. I don't even see how a painter could have applied paint as well as this guy applied the white glass in perfect symmetry.

Need to see pictures of it It is called the glass bug and has nothing to do with your feminine side A shelf (curio) is needed. My thing is some pieces you will never find again-once in a lifetime. Hang on to them

Remember the blue and orange one you smashed? Look up Handkerchief vase, especially Fazzoletto Let me know what you think?

I found it, lower left this photo. Man, I would have never thought EXCEPT THE PRECISION LAYERING - 2mm orange on inside, 1/2mm layer of opaque white, 1mm blue, and then 1mm clear on outside.

Think I will hit some yard sales around here...Lots of younger people selling off their parents and (or) grandparents stuff...This generation doesn't like to hang on to things like we did...LOL Also have a used store here in town called H2O,thay sell some nice stuff also... One guy found a framed painting there, bought it for $12.00 had it appraised and sold it for $700.00 I found a Oriental art piece there a few years ago,I knew the frame alone was worth more than the $5.00,haven't appraised the art yet.. ...Lots of colored glass there....

We would hit all the thrift stores when we knew they were getting a new shipment in, plus all the estate sales and swap meets. I have found stuff that I could not believe they were throwing out-either they didn't care or didn't know what they had I don't do it much anymore because I stopped selling, now its all collecting. Don't pull a James and smash unknown glass ; )

The old saying, its worth something, if you can (or) could find a buyer.......I only hang on to things for so long, if I don't use it, it gets taken apart, smashed or recycled.... My brother in Montana sells, so do I (here in Oregon).. So we do swap things once in awhile...

I will say that that vase was very symmetrical as if mold shaped. Level across the top and the folded webs were very equal to each other. If that means anything. It was thin but still 4 layers which is was very unusual. 4 layers laminated is the most I have ever seen plus thin to boot. Similar to this in construction but much more symmetrical, like flat across the top - www.etsy.com/listing/163589580/on-sale-blue-handkerchief-vase-cobalt

Pretty darn sure it was machine made junk. I looked up that Italian company and handkerchief vases of theirs, saw 100's in blue(Google images). I see the similarity. None with ugly blue/orange though. I see their beauty too.
Pretty sure the base was smooth and not ground and never with a pontil. Thin and totally symmetrical as if done in mold.
