I love the first one, but TBH, I don't care for the metal on the stone in the second. I liked it better without. It's still nice, I just preferred it the other way.

Interesting. I really do like the metal on the stone. Gives it a very organic look and makes an "unexciting" colored stone the center of attention.

I just found it interesting to me that the copper adheres to the hematite as well as it did. It makes me wonder if I can find hematite powder to add to the conductive paint?

They're both nice. I'm with hummingbirdstones on the copper in the hematite. One man's opinion but I think it adds to the overall piece.

I really like the way the metal goes across the stone on the second one. Quite unusual.

Apparently the metal on the stone is a hit, but, personally, I'm not a big fan. I don't know why, really. Maybe it's because I like the stone a lot. Also, I really liked the first shot where you just had the circular bail looking like it was naturally coming out of the stone on the sides. Since you added the beads, it lost that look. Not to say, I don't like it at all, I just liked it better the other way.

Truth, I am not sure how I feel about the copper running along the hematite band. It was an experiment to see if it would happen. Next time I do a BIF, I think I will seal it

I finally took time to read through this entire thread - and I must say that I'm totally fascinated. Unbelievable what can be done! I love the plated bits of plants the most - leaf, acorn. Also the combination of a stone and twigs. I think the acorn with a little crystal wins! Some of the pieces are really amazing. Maybe a suggestion for sometime in the future: I'd love to see a plated chestnut or maybe a wild chestnut pod! It's not too prickly like a real chestnut pod, but it's very concave, so it could hold a stone nicely. Really cool obsession, I see why you like it so much!

And I love experimenting with different things The chestnut is a cool idea!

beefjello what an awesome idea! I never noticed that they looked like that. I'll have to go out and see if any of my snapdragons still have any dead pods hanging around.
MsAli I'll send you some with the bamboo berries if there's any out there and you can try it.
ETA: Bummer. The snapdragon pods are toast. Probably that snow we had a while back and the freezes did them in. Once they start flowering again I'll pluck some to send to you.
