Nice job, very impressed with your glass polishing abilities. Will be running a tumbler of Obsidian soon, searching for "The Best Results" method right now. Very helpful, thank you.

Try the tutorial in this thread. Many have had good luck with it and/or used it as a foundation for their obsidian tumbles. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/52088/obsidian-rock-tumbling-tutorialSorry for the hijack, jamesp. Great stuff!

Great stuff! Oops. sorry rads, I did not see your query and welcome to the forum and thanks Dave for catching the ball. I do my obsidian my own way with a funky tumbler and different from the recipe above. The recipe Dave gave you is the most popular method.

I am loving the blue/green! Look at the Etsy site KarlaElyGlass, she has some lips I have fallen for the lady with orange lips Alison. Wrinkles, she needs some chap stick. Looked at Karla's lips, she uses a different method, basically cutting lip shapes and fusing them flat down. sure works. ![](https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/889/42431494481_ee82776cc9_c.jpg)

I did consider doing them by dome on flat cut-to-shapes but wanted to do more like 3-DIM stuff.
