Looking good, just getting my out of the polish tonight, they will get a quick burnish then will then get them into the mail. Pity I didn't get the colourful ones... Mine were all pretty boring.
Cheers Scott

This is way late, but still wanted to comment.
The Ramsey site is practically out my back door in NV terms (about 25-30 miles away) so I've picked up a fair amount of it. In fact, that was what I was mostly rolling the first few months I got into the whole tumbling thing. Lots of disappointment, and lots of material returned to its natural habitat after several weeks in captivity.
All your comments are consistent with my experience. There are exceptionally beautiful pieces, but it's pretty challenging to get there. Lots and lots of flaws of different kinds.
When I went and looked at the rules a few months ago, saw "Ramsey", and in consideration of my noobness, I figgered I'd sit this one out and get some more experience.
I think what y'all have shared in this thread is pretty great stuff.

It is always a tough decision to pay postage to send back rocks that you do not think are good enough. One of the baskets was labeled #32 If they actually had 32 entries returned then that is a lot more then they were getting a few years ago. Chuck

Much like everyone else that entered this year I too really disliked the rocks for the contest. I quit working on them completely for a long period of time and did not plan to send any in. I got an itch this week to at least run them through the lot-o to see if they got any better. I took these pictures after 1000 and burnish. I am on vacation all of next week but may run them in polish for 2 days after that and possibly send some in on the 15th which is the last day possible. Getting them to shine is not an issue but sending in contest rocks with pits and imperfections is hard to come to terms with. This was my only rock with decent character. Looks like maybe a fossil in there? Thanks for looking Chuck Hey Chuck, this looks like your tumble ETA:Okay someone not in tap talk tonight, please help me out. I can't figure out how to link to the Feather River Facebook page. Good catch and good memory to remember I posted that one here. Thanks for sharing! Chuck
