There are some pits that are not on this map. It has some challenging terrain and some of the pits you cannot get to (by vehicle anyways) I have snorkeled 8 of them (a couple of them I will never do again) & cannot wait to get out and explore more Some idea of what it is like (Pipe Pit-the divers are hilarious) files.dnr.state.mn.us/maps/state_parks/sra00302.pdf

Love that last one. Although the colors are different, the patterns, shapes, and overall feel remind me of Van Gogh's "Starry Night.". Beautiful!

More Van Halen than Van Gogh, huh? Good one Rich. How about Van Morrison? It's not a matter of being refined, it is just knowing and remembering beautiful things that strike a chord with you. I've always loved this and a few others of his paintings. I'll bet you'd recognize this painting when you see it: Do you see the resemblance I'm speaking of? If you like rocks, and I know you do, then you appreciate beauty, too.

The colors in the white and pink are usually found on the surface and have been bleached by the sun for eons.

MsAli I liked your post. I was unaware that MEJ came in green this is good to know. The green would indicate that the Iron is not Fe2O3 (Hematite - red) and Fe3O4 (magnetite -black) but also (K,Na)(Fe3+,Al,Mg)2(Si,Al)4O10(OH)2 (Glauconite -Blue-green, yellow-green, green, rarely colorless.) Check out minedat.org see: www.mindat.org/min-1710.html

But yes , a huge appreciation of beauty in so many things around me every day . Wow , there is a striking resemblance between Van Gogh and my rock . Guess my coloring lessons paid off after all . Sorry , but had to look up Van Morrison . Back to being unrefined .

For sure , toiv0 has the best MEJ out there . Billy lives in MEJ land . And he has a way with the ladies , can really sweettalk the pretty ones right into going home with him . I just get the leftovers and bargain bin scraps , rocks I mean .
