I recently purchased online a slab of West Coast Picasso Jasper. I had difficulty perceiving the slab as flat because of the riot of patterns and values (lights and darks). Its photos looked like it was some sort of severely 3D-fractured surface. Of course, once in hand, I saw that it was smoothly finished. But the patterns and values continued to mess with my mind as I was cutting. That's also true for the finished cabs to a lesser degree. I kept second guessing symmetry as I was cutting because of the patterns — even the photographs bug me. Picasso 1
Picasso 2
Picasso 3
Blue-Green Mossy Agate — From a slab from a box that was donated to my local club from an estate sale.
"Driveway Rock" — In hand, this Dunite looks more green. You can see at least two metallic inclusions.

Nice cabs! I love working with that WC Piccaso jasper material.
Regarding the blue/green moss - is the color correct on your photo? The design looks exactly like some material that I have but it's distinctive blue inside the agate and dark blue green where the moss emerges from the agate.

Thank you. It's hard to see the forest when a couple of trees grab your attention!

Beautiful, do you have a template for Picasso #2 shape? I'd love to know where I can get one.

Lovely stones! That Picasso is especially killer. I would have been cross-eyed trying to cab that.

Your description matches the agate cab very well. Close examination under a halogen light the moss that breaks the cab surface is a dark blue-green. Within the cab I would call it a light green-blue, but for a casual view it reads light blue.
Do you know where your stock originated?

I don't, Julie, but I can make a template image for you. I'll do that and post it here. I created the shape primarily because I wanted to minimize waste and couldn't come up any other strategy for dealing with that portion of the slab.

Never seen anything like the WC Picasso, I love it but the green moss is cool also. I want some of each and then I want to rock hound your driveway.

The outline on the left is a tracing of the cab along with two thinner versions. I would call it a knife-blade shape.

I really like cutting WC Picasso, too. Your cabs represent some of the best patterns and colors. Love the moss. At first, I thought you were going to say Tommy sent it to you. He had some exactly the same. Beautiful stuff.

Do you know where your stock originated? I was kind of hoping you knew haha. I was told by a rockhound that it was absolutely positively from the Crooked River region in Oregon but I don't know personally - I bought it at an estate sale. It was (and is) too big for my saw vice but I was able to whack off a corner and have made a dozen or so cabs from it - and given a little bit away here and there.
