A cute little Amanita Muscaria that I found growing in the shed today. About the size of a walnut. Most of the shrooms growing outside have disappeared already. amygdule THX for the avatar

Actually, I view hunting deer as a humane way of thinning the population. It's better to take a bullet than starve to death. Deer populations easily get quite large. Here in VA, if it weren't for hunting they'd be dropping like flies all over the place. Not a nice way to go.

Great teamwork between AJ and Simon cat. Simon was "reading" to AJ and AJ was turning the pages.

My daughter told me that Simon was meowing gently, just like he was reading. When Simon became silent,AJ turned the page. Sorry about any typos. For some reason my computer is often not responding when I hit the return, space or backspace buttons. Yes, the keyboard is clean.

So cute. My kid does the same thing. If I pause reading, he turns the page. He likes to give me the “dumb end” of the books, HE gets to turn the pages. So interesting that the cat plays along. I need some different cats!

Not what I wanted to find early Monday AM. Apparently, one of tenants young cows escaped and knocked down boards by my horse tank. The escapee, also drank a lot of water from the tank. My neighbor who has the riding stable/campground did some emergency repairs. I still need to replace/repair the electric rope and a handle that disappeared to the right of where the boards are down.

For those of you who are wondering how Scott is, thought I'd share a pic. He's settling in for Christmas- but doesn't want to stay out of the tree. I'm thinking about making a spray with lemons, limes and oranges- I'm tired of picking up ornaments!

fernwood sometime you should share a pic of that stone barn in the background... they don’t make em like that anymore. It is posted here somewhere. Plus some of the silo. Barn is circa 1902. The roof was raised in the 1940's. The largest historic barn in the County, according to Historical Society. I invited them to my place to check out the barn. They are helping me maintain it. They do not want it to fall down or be demolished. A turnbill system was installed in the 40's. That has kept the raised roof and upper level intact. If you want, I will try to find some digital photos and send them to you via PM

miket Just combine a ratio of 60% Jalapeno juice and 40% water. Spray that near the tree. A solution of 30% hot sauce and 70% water also should work. CAts and trees.Gotta love the combo. Glad to see that your rock cat, Scott,is a family member.

They never mess with the tree but like to lay under it and admire the lights. And lol at the human head on a reindeer ornament.

Proud granddad here. Shelby graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina yesterday. I'd like to think that all the rock hounding digs, karate practice, etc wife and I took her to for many years played a small part in guiding her in the right direction. Along the way she earned a second degree black belt in traditional Japanese karate. After the holidays she enters the graduate program at our USC pursuing her second degree there.
