Someone seems to have spilled their shiny rocks ALL over the forum.
Every page I open, and every thread I read
Front page, back page, in between, the rocks are there indeed
Some seem to be so large and bright, but others are quite small
Look hard for rocks and click your mouse, and try to get them all
No broom is needed to help us clean, you have your trusty bag
For those who pick the most rocks up, a nice prize will be had
You can help us if you wan't, ignore it if you please
But if you're a rock hound like we think, we'll see you on your knees
A scavenger hunt it is for now, it really is quite clear
But study them when you find them, an ID test is near
A poet I am not, it's very plain to see
This seemed like fun but if it's not, please don't throw rocks at me
UPDATE: the following is now posted on page 4
I think we've arrived at a conclusion date of April 1st for the rock hunting part. I'm optimistic that we are going to turn the corner in April and start seeing things getting better so for me a conclusion date of April 1st makes sense symbolically and rockjunquie and aDave supported this as well.
So, at 10pm PDT sharp on 3/31 (I would say midnight but I can't guarantee I can stay up that late and still be sober enough to man the controls) I will suspend the game and will post the final tally leader board.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers - most likely to be some kind of box of rocks and quite possibly a cabochon or two and potentially a pendant.

Thank you everyone for participating and for all the positive feedback I've received - folks have described it as being fun and a "timely" and a "welcome distraction" from world events. I personally am enjoying it just look for new rocks to pop up and collect them for fun. There are 22 different rocks being fed randomly and I know for a fact that I have not seen at least 6 of the rocks appear yet which leads me to believe that I'm missing them on those page loads that I think were blank.
