Went out on Saturday and found a few signers I'll probably cut just to see if anything comes of them. Plus this little guy...it's ok, like I always say better than getting skunked. You weren't saying this one was a Signer, were you?

I'm late to this thread. I just took your 2nd two photos and oriented them to show how they were as they gravitationally filled. With first fill as liquid drained away, a lot of stuff fell to he bottom.

And that makes sense, thank you.
I don't know nearly enough about geology, but I do know that I like rocks.

miket - I think I was confused with Robin's question and your response. I was thinking, "If you think that's a Signer, then I'd happily take all your Signers from now on!" LOL (I didn't really think that! ) 1dave - Thanks for posting those! That totally makes sense now!

Went out to some private land on Sunday with two of my boys for the first time, so we didn't know what to expect. It was just a small patch of rocks in the pasture I think it only took us a little over an hour to search the whole thing twice- but you never know until you get there and I appreciated the landowner letting us look. We didn't find much, but I did spot this little guy. Thanks for looking.

Well I didn't find this today...but I did finish it up last night! I have to say while I love the fact this is a Fairburn, the colors are just too similar to Teepee Canyon Agates. It is for sure a Fairburn though... I think it's over 2" in height...

I'd love to take some "artistic" credit for that...but since it's a Fairburn, I didn't want to waste ANY (or as little as possible) of the material...so I picked the biggest stencil shape that would fit on the slab. I actually would have preferred to have that larger fortification area there at the top, down at the bottom of the cab, but the shape of the slab (slabette) wouldn't allow it...so this was pretty much the only option. I will wire-wrap this, but won't have any "frills" on the wrap. It'll be a simple wrap to let this entire stone be the standout.

I noticed you use that shape a lot.

I noticed you use that shape a lot. I picked up a several stencils from the seller Cabtopia on Etsy. She was really a pleasure to deal with. Here's the link to the stencil I used for this cab. If you check out her "shop" on Etsy, she's got a bunch of stencils. I like that they are see-through...you can see what's under the stencil and make adjustments to where you actually place the final outline. www.etsy.com/listing/240799184/action-cabtopia-crystal-clear-template?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=cabtopia&ref=sr_gallery-1-1&organic_search_click=1&etp=1&sts=1
