Nice find. How common are agates in pudding stones?

Very nice one on the saw, that would make a very nice polished whole slab.

Pretty cool, Chuck! I like the monster pudding stones, too- thanks for sharing. No telling how big those are. I did not even bother to dig around them. No use for them really. I have enough pudding stone landscape rocks. Fun to look at though. Chuck

That’s awesome, Chuck! I have never heard of an agate being found in a puddingstone before. It doesn’t look like a LSA, any idea what type of agate it might be?

First for me to see also. I think it looks like a Laker. I love the pudding stones.

First time I have seen one that is that obvious. I have seen a few things that I thought might be agate before but nothing like this. I would think Laker like toiv0 said. I sure do wish it would have been in a spot I could cab. I am probably going to break it down into a smaller section and hand grind/polish it. Have the two jaspers on either side is like icing on a cake. That one will be a keeper. Chuck

I actually found one with a sparkly flake of "gold" on the exterior. Whether it was pyrite or a mica or the fabled gold not sure. Definitely don't see it on them.
I'd have to look through to see if I find any pudding agate inclusions. I thought I may have seen a red lsa agate portion but not positive.
I'm sure you've both also seen the green parts of the quartzite. What is that?

He probably has found some of them, he's just not telling until he get's all from the spot checked out!!

One of my students just sent me a picture of one she found that had some light green in it. I have also seen some pictures online with very green pebbles in them. I'm not sure if I've ever found green or not. It sure isn't common.
