Hi evryone, I've finally goten this picture posting stuff down ;D Here are some pictures of some of my future tumbling material. This stuff all comes from Utah, and the green rock and Chert tumbles very nice. I haven't tried to tumble the Banded Common Opal yet. If anyone knows what the green rock could be, please help me identify it. Enjoy the pictures. I'll try to post some of my finished batches in a day or so! i7.photobucket.com/albums/y265/rockminer0/DCP_0382.jpg"] [imghttp://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y265/rockminer0/DCP_0387.jpg][/img] [http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y265/rockminer0/DCP_0386.jpg/img] Steve

Hi Steve,
The banded stuff in the first 2-3 pix is real nice. Where did you pick that up? I would like to get some of that for tumbling.

Those are going to be beautiful when you get them cut/broke down and polished, especially the banded ones. Tami

Oooooooo Steve, can't help you identify them but dang, they sure are pretty. It's all gorgeous! The stuff in the 4th and 5th pictures, I'm wondering if that could be porcelain jasper? It has the right colors though I'm not sure where that stuff comes from. The bottom looks like green quartz but don't take my word for it. What ever it is, it's gorgeous!!! I am so jealous ... you guys in Utah have the nicest rocks. WTG on a good day of rock collecting. Was it hard to collect? I mean pieces few and far between or did you hit a mother lode of it? Cher

Beautiful rocks! Love the Banding! I don't know anything about tumbling Opal. I think it's pretty soft. Trish

Great Haul, Love all of them! How hard is that green rock - it looks like a bit of green calcite that I have - not sure though - if it shapes up real fast it just might be calcite - 3 days & mine was almost totally rounded off! Lucky you on those finds - love the banding too

Thanks for the responses, The Banded stuff looks great, but I'm not sure how it will polish...it is a little soft. The green rock tumbles and polishes great as well as the colored Chert. Here's another for you....Picasso Picture Marble. I bought a huge chunk of it from a lady down in Milford Utah. The picture is shown wet. I'm not sure if I'll break it up and tumble it, or wait and do some cabbing when I get some more equipment. As for the other rocks...I'll try to get a contest or something going, and send the winner a variety package. I've had a rotten week....got laid off, my wife got in a car accident, and had to get a starter for the truck. What else can go wrong.... At least I still have my rocks...oh yeah, and my wife is just FINE!

Steve-
Man, I'm sorry to hear about your hard luck situation lately. They say that bad things come in 3's and you've just had yours. Things will be looking up for you!
Is your wife OK? I hope she's doing fine!

Thanks Gaetz, Wife's doing fine...as well as my daughter. She was taking her to gymnastics and the other driver got them from the side. I don't want to go for #4, so hopefully I'm done for a while Steve

Steve, I'm so glad your wife and daughter were ok. I'm sorry too that you've been laid off, hopefully it won't be for long. Use the time off wisely, like for picking rocks.
