Photo #132 Leland Blue slag glass from Michigan. I found this material to be quite the challenge to tumble: There was a considerable amount of bubbles. Some of the pieces have metal embedded in them. The original piece was a nightmare to break up. Even with protective gear: my leather gloved hands were injured. Photo #132 displays about 20% of the original chunk. (pictured below)

Photo #133 Here is a larger piece of smokey quartz backlit by a candle. The snake is large, so the stone looks small. Another photo of the stone in natural light below.

Ball Python breeding/laying/hatching season is in full swing! Eggs are dropping and I don't want to bother my guys/girls with photos until everything is sorted out.
Meanwhile the rocks keep spinning/shaking. Below is an abbreviated version of a video showing my UV18 setup/action (first vibe stage 120/220 AOx).
My original video was in Super HD (181GB), but, minutes after completing the three day upload: YouTube gave me a rejection message that it had to be 15 minutes or less unless I officially registered...hahaha

OMG! I started reading your post and saw there was a video...as I was reading, my peripheral vision caught something white in the bowl...and I was wondering what was happening with the snake eggs at first!

No worries! The eggs are all safe and sound for the moment! I am glad I am getting some of them early this year...I currently don't have enough incubator space to house all of the clutches at the same time.

Kicking back on a private beach today with my gf. Pretty boring rocks. Found this stone, can't quite tell what it is, looks interesting though. Side-note: Really glad I don't have to cut the lawn on this house (shown below).

Imagine mowing it like this? (Loved the pic of the private beach! ) Hahaha, I can only imagine. Thanks, the beach is part of the estate. Quite a hike from my car to the house to the ocean. Glad I didn't see any large rocks I 'had to have'!

Hiking today near the ocean: 2 miles out and ran into rocky ocean shoreline for several more miles. My gf only gave me the usual 15 minutes to rockhound this huge area before she demanded we return to the wooded trail...brutal... A lot of the stones were fairly plain, but, I had a huge amount of ground to cover quickly and there were so many I would have liked to examine in closer detail. This was all I could get...it is just as well as the trail was another 4 miles and dragging any amount of excess weight for miles becomes cumbersome...

What do you do with them when you get them? Do you find someone who can identify them? You're lucky you had your girlfriend with you to stop you. Those look interesting.

I will tumble them eventually. I'm not really set up for anything else (in terms of lapidary work). My 'free time' is very limited which makes tumbling ideal for me. I'm not really concerned very much with ID. There is nothing I have found in my area I've found that I would deem of any considerable value. I am more concerned with Mohs ratings. I might have to return to the area eventually (minus my gf).

Did you get the scrutinizing feline inspector's approval? He was displeased that they were inedible and promptly bit my pinky finger...

OK. Those are some interesting rocks. I'd have to agree with your cat though because on my small screen they look like cookies and are making me hungry.
