Photo #137 Broken geode pieces I tumbled, tough to get a photo without blinding flashback. This is the last of my 2020 photos. Cool stuff for 2021 already polished...just need to hatch the snakes to pair up. My ball-pythons will breed October-July and lay eggs between May-September: I should start seeing the first hatchlings in mid-July, pics will probably resume with regularity at some point then. In the meanwhile: still watching the ground in my travels for anything interesting.

Wow. You have beautiful places to look for rock. I'm super excited I have a place to walk outside of the city with very few people but the hot sun hits early and there isn't a tree, grass, or water for miles ...and there aren't that many rocks to pick from either. Your views are super refreshing. Thanks for the glimpse of life outside of the desert (except for the snakes - those we have).

A desert with no rocks...sounds like a beach with no ocean. New England has its charms...especially in the Fall when the foliage turns and the biting insects are gone...

With the holiday weekend just past, I initially misread the title to be Snakes and Sparklers That would be an interesting proposition. Some of the artwork on the boxes of pyrotechnics are pretty cool. I'm not really into fireworks these days like I used to...I do remember some favorites like the 'Drop Zone' which over the course of several minutes sent a hundred flaming plastic parachute men over a 100 yard radius with each one burning hot enough to start its own fire on lawn/tree/roof and anyone without swift feet...ahhh good times...just as advertised: 'like being in a warzone'...

I've been in the process of changing jobs recently. Moving up in the world. Expectations are very high in my new role, 2021 photos might be a bit slow for a while until I get situated. Photo #138 Yes, I've been into the bead glass. I'm no JamesP of course, just my first run... (Note: Video has sound, very loud!)

Gotta say, the last two pictures were outstanding! Love the designs and colors! Nice polish too! Thanks! The glass photos are a lot of work to set up and controlling the snake without disturbing the pattern is delicate work. I have a lot of ideas for future glass bead photos, unfortunately a lot of the patterning/colors of my hatchlings so far this year do not match my color schemes. A white blue-eyed leucistic ball python (as shown in photo #137) is my best bet for any of my ideas, however, I only planned on producing a few of them this year. Coincidentally my first hatchling this year was the one pictured above. Side Note: There is a tumbled stone in the photo because at the time someone was 'triggered' that I don't have rocks in all my photos. People are funny...

I have no idea how you were able to keep that pattern from crashing...that alone deserves some kudos points! Snakes and Stones is a much catchier title than Snakes and Shiny Things! LOL It's your thread...post what you want...you've got enough lurkers that check it out!

Photo #140 At first glance, without my glasses on, only one cup of coffee, and looking at the picture on my phone, I thought that was an ammonite half sitting there in the middle. LOL (If you cover your left eye, and squint really hard with your right eye, you'll see the same thing. )

What do you do with them when you get them? Do you find someone who can identify them? You're lucky you had your girlfriend with you to stop you. Those look interesting. I will tumble them eventually. I'm not really set up for anything else (in terms of lapidary work). My 'free time' is very limited which makes tumbling ideal for me. I'm not really concerned very much with ID. There is nothing I have found in my area I've found that I would deem of any considerable value. I am more concerned with Mohs ratings. I might have to return to the area eventually (minus my gf). Have you considered any photos of snakes and stones + cats? Like getting your cat into the mix? If bet he (she?) loves snakes.

This looks like a crystal healing for cats advertisement. "The positive energy of the quartz flows through the cats paw, provoking deep ancestral purring and hope to overcome challenges."

Expectations are very high here as well. Your new boss will understand. Lol, how much am I getting paid here...? Have you considered any photos of snakes and stones + cats? Like getting your cat into the mix? If bet he (she?) loves snakes. I have not tried taking photos with my cats and snakes together. I did try years ago to take a photo of my 9lb. tuxedo cat next to my 14lb. Flemish Giant rabbit, however, he sees all moving things as food ...given the fact his favorite toy is a plush snake on a pole that he drags around by the neck...I'm thinking that introducing him to ball pythons probably will not go well... This looks like a crystal healing for cats advertisement. "The positive energy of the quartz flows through the cats paw, provoking deep ancestral purring and hope to overcome challenges." It does look like an image from a commercial. As a matter of fact you just reminded me: I was at a flea market over the weekend and one woman had a table with overpriced low quality, cracked/poorly shaped semi-clear quartz crystals. She said that scientists were con-artists and that conventional medicine was a scam and she was a 'real doctor' certified in crystal healing. As a scientist in the medical field I diplomatically said nothing, but, how does one get 'certified' in crystal healing?....maybe I should get certified and add that to my list of credentials.

Photo #141 It takes a lot off time to sort all the beads out by color....tried to do a group shot without sorting. Interesting to try, but, not as visually appealing IMO.

Maybe from the same website that I just became a Minister on, Reverend Al.

I think, first, the crystals need to be ethically sourced….

Funny you should ask, because you've got option. If you're looking for a bargain, how about $12.99 for a "complete practitioners course with certificate"? But if you want the real deal, it will cost you $1,555 at the Love and Life School. This is actually quite a bargain. The website makes clear that you will be receiving courses and materials worth over $6,000!
