Those are flat out some of the coolest rocks I've seen in a long time! Those are spectacular! I love the orbs peeking through!

Are those Brazilian agates or Brazilian Sodalite? After seeing your comment, I went over to Kingsley North and saw they had Brazilian Sodalite that they are advertising as deep blue with some white. The Brazilian Agates they show on their site don't look like they have any blue in them. Either way, those are gorgeous and tumbled well!

I used Brazilian Sodalite in Photo #212 (for comparison). The technique for tumbling sodalite and agate is very different--sodalite never would have survived 5 weeks at 46 grit in a 12lb. barrel with larger stones and no cushioning. Out of the 35lb. box of Baby Brazilian Agates I received from Kingsley (about 60 pieces): only about 9 of them were blue with 'interesting' patterning. I have shown 5 of them so far, 2 more are finished (with a different pattern), and 2 more are 'in-process'. I also tumbled a deep red agate with interesting patterning and awesome color/clarity, but, unfortunately the piece is not large enough to warrant its own snake photo...I have another 40lbs of this rough, so maybe I will find more eventually to group them up.

Those are incredible agates! I don’t think I’ve seen Brazilian agates that color before, or at least ones that haven’t been dyed. I’ve been close to ordering some of those baby Brazilians for a few months now, and now I regret that I haven’t done so (yet!).

Photo #218Took this one from the CT River, noticed it had some neat orange speckling on it. Small garnets perhaps?

Photo #219I like the pattern and color on this stone, but, it has a lot of internal fractures. I rotary'd off the crust with cushioning, and then vibed it down to smooth it out. I managed to keep it intact. Not a super clean tumble, but, it still looks neat and took a high polish.

Photo #221Translucency in some of these Brazilian Agates makes photos difficult...you start to see imperfections that are *inside* the stone... Those are the strangest Brazilian agates I've ever seen. Very cool, though.

I am only going on what Kingsley North said they sold me. I have another box of these same agates I plan to start tumbling in a few weeks.

Photo #222Petoskey +1, and some other 'rocks' that were originally one really gnarly piece of something (arrived with the rough petoskeys) before it broke apart in tumble...

Photo #223Patterning on these were a little different and leaned more towards a very light blue (as opposed to the darker blues in Photo #216). The more I look at this photo-the more it hurts my eyes lol.

I am still fascinated by those blue Brazilians like in #225. The blue is so deep on those. Have you tried cutting or breaking them up to see what kind of patterns they have on the inside?

I am still fascinated by those blue Brazilians like in #225. The blue is so deep on those. Have you tried cutting or breaking them up to see what kind of patterns they have on the inside? I would like to think that there are super wild patterns inside...but, based on ones I am in the process of tumbling that are broken already: I kind of doubt it. Besides my gf would strangle me if she saw me breaking my polished Brazilian Agate tumbles. I noticed my collection of these finished agates has been slowly relocating to her territory in the house. She said she likes them more than Labradorite and she joked around that I should tumble a few hundred lbs. of them...which even if she is joking-is still a 'green-light' for a rock hoarder...and is why my mailman hates me... I also lack the proper tools and time (mostly time) to cut Brazilian Agate properly...so I would be a clumsy oaf wielding a rock chisel and sledge, and that wouldn't be great! Example: 4:30 on the video below. Maybe some day in 30-40 years when I retire I will get a proper saw and flat lap...
