I took the liberty of capturing one of your pics, enhancing it in my photo program and sending it to Photo bucket. There is probably a way to do it through Yahoo Pictures, I'd have to go look, but you have to get the URL. Here it is Very nice, walrus! cookie

Some very nice cabs in there, I like the malachite too but I have a thing for green rocks. That sphere is awesome. Great pics! I think you should check out photobucket, I don't believe that yahoo allows hot linking.

the one bowl is in fact emerald and rhodo garnets, tumbled seperately, untill polish in cerium ox.
the one blue nodule is actually a blue apatite crystal nodule, pretty neat huh?
the only prob with the malachite was to get that bullseye i had to keep grinding and grinding and it got thin
the photos dont do justice to the azurite at all. the one in my hand is cut to a facet style and will make a great wire wrap, cant wait till we figure out which way to do it.

yeah thye do look like little jellies dont they,, i once and a while put all the smallish bits, broken crystals, and god knows what else into the tumbler and just let it go. even glass and chipped cut stones have made it into the mix. you get some odd results, the stuf in the square box is the result out of this process. sometimes the softer stuff and anything in matrix does not allow the rest of the batch to take high polish. but then a bit here and there turn out so amazing.
i love some of the pics ive seen here,, its great to know there are as many of you out there with rocks in the head as Me. LOL

Wow you have got yourself one beautiful rock collection going on there! Those jelly beans really look like them. I love that stone you are holding in your hand and the one after it in the container. They have such beautiful colors. Lucky you! You've done a great job on them and all the time you put into it shows! On the flip side I wanted to share this with you. I understand about having no insurance and having to have surgery. My mom had to have emergency open heart surgery to replace her aorta heart valve. The only thing she owned was her house. She really didn't want to use that as she wanted to pass it on to us. I told her it is more important for her to have this surgery and have a happy and healthly life than any money from the sale of that house once she passed away. It is more important to be alive and enjoy your life and hobbies. You can imagine how much her surgery costs, but I have my mom and hopefully will for years to come. I don't care about the cash from the sale of her house as my mom would have died within a couple of days if she didn't have this life saving surgery. Please don't let the cost of your surgery bother you. You are more important than the value of your house! I wish you well and a speedy recovery from your surgery. Once you are feeling better you can get back to work and enjoy your life! All things work out in the end, please don't worry about it. You take care of yourself, first, last and always. You only get one chance to go around this world.

thanks for the positive look on things, not just my work but also the look on life.
I refuse to give up on life, in the lastt year and a half i have turned my life from recovering from a failed 7 year relationship to finding good in people again and starting over.
i wont give up on that, so i decided that i shall sell some things i can part with to cover as much as i can so we have somethign other than a large mortgage.
so I share my work with anyone who cares, the idea came from a friend of mine who is going thru a similar spot now in life, she has just had her surgery and we spend some time comforting each other. she is selling some of her photographs in a gallery here in st pete and has had great sucess in raising awareness for getting regular checkups.
I am so grateful of the support I get from online as well as in person friends, You all are so great!!
Its soo good to know there are sooooo many good people out there. makes it hard to give up hope.

Hi Walrus , Pleased to meet you , and welcome to this great place on earth where every one is just so helpful and ready with support and encouragement.
Hang in there , times will get better for you too.
I love your rock collection and am mighty pleased you share them pics with us. I have been out of action a bit lately , due to travel and when back home due to a very nasty cold of which I think I have almost recovered now. Hence my writing .
