That’s a beautiful batch, Jason! The last one is spectacular, but I think I actually like the one above it even more.

That last one if the bomb! Nice cabs, jasoninsd. Thanks Robin! That one just kept getting better as I was grinding it down. Yep, I love this one. That’s a beautiful batch, Jason! The last one is spectacular, but I think I actually like the one above it even more. Thanks Brian! I was stoked when I saw that slab...and even more pleased with the results. Now I just to figure out a good wrap for this one.

Cold Mountain Thunderegg. I'm pretty infatuated with this material. It's pretty diverse with the colors...well kind of so far. Reds, yellows, and greens are the predominant colors I've seen thus far...

That cold mountain thunder egg is nuts! Made me say WOW out loud.
What do you do with all those cabs you grind up? The ones above all turned out fanfreakintastic!

That Cold Mountain Thunderegg really is the bomb! I remember the first time I saw someone post a cab made from it...I immediately put in my order back then! LOL - These were from a different vender and much better quality than the first batch I got... I've been wire wrapping the cabs...and stockpiling them. I'm too chicken to try and sell anything just yet. I keep telling myself I need to get way better at wire wrapping and then stock up the "inventory" before I attempt to sell anything. It's a stall tactic. LOL

I think it's the varying possibilities within the different types of Thundereggs that makes me so excited to work them. You get a few heartaches when the matrix doesn't want to hold together on one that you just KNOW would be an awesome cab if it did...but... LOL - Maybe that's what makes the special ones even more special!

Am mildly amused to find this chalcedony rearing bull in a New Mexican thunderegg. I have trimmed most of the rhyolitic matrix from the perimeter, but have resisted trying to carve the beast to higher level of realism. Some things are best left to our mind's eye.

woodman - I need to give Richardson's Ranch a call and see about getting a large flat rate box of plume or moss sent. I can't wait to see your new treasures once they're cut! Fossilman - Thanks Mike! Here's a couple more Cold Mountain Thunderegg cabs I did earlier this week. The first one has a fracture going across the middle, but I thought the pattern looked too good to let it go...and it held together...so I finished it. Love the different zones in that last one!
