Some of you may have read my thread BD SAW MODIFICATIONS I did quite an extensive modification on the bearing cavity, it is my belief that the mineral oil is washing the grease out of the bearing and then the grit is entering the bearing causing premature failing of the bearings. Since that last post just over 2 weeks ago I have prolly cut 40 lbs of slabs in almost 40 hrs of saw operation. I added two Hobbs Hour Meters (1) that is hooked to the saw motor, and (1) that is hooked to the everclean. These hour meters over time will help in the scheduled time in which I give the saw a Pump of Grease with the Grease Gun. Or time in which I replace the sludge can in the everclean so far I think whichn will be about 125 hrs of everclean operation. Everything is on a digital Timer. The power is onto everything on 4, 3, 2, 1, hrs or 30, or 15 minutes. The Saw will automatically will shut off when it completes its cut which is anot 15 t0 30 minutes depending on the length of cut and the Ever Clean will continue to run for 3 plus hours along with the pump that feeds the saw flushing and cleaning the sediment in the saw cavity. With the nearly 40 hours of cutting since installing the hour meters the saw bearings would have started to chatter by now so my greasing Idea is working. I have over 150 lbs of slabs cut, and will most likely cut another 100 lbs more over the winter my goal is to get them all cut and into preforms over the winter. Since this Covid thing is still going we will stay home and work on our inventory, Anyways here are some Pics, The Cabs are ready for polish.
