I kid. Yesterday, I was out in the garage slabbing some rocks and my hands were so cold with mittens on. There would be no way I could work out there. Luckily I have a wood stove out there that can keep Nate & I warm when we are out working.

I cut one and hated it -- didn't turn out at all like I thought it would. I'll cut another if time allows. Getting ready to move and shop time is limited.

I've got one in the works but when I took pictures, I saw some scratches I missed. Have to do some more work on it. Last 2 days I've been putting up my Christmas tree. Tomorrow I will finish it up and then get rid of the scratches.

Still plenty of time for me to procrastinate before I have to panic dig through my hoard of rocks 😅

Only a couple weeks left and I'm the only one so far ? ? ? We like to keep you in suspense. Yeah... that’s the ticket.

gemfeller I excluded the colored chalcedony because they are the go to chalcedony varieties for ring cabs. I thought it would be fun to see what people come up with for varieties of agate and jasper that look amazing, even when cut in a smaller size suitable for a ring. yet you let Turquoise ride ?

So turquoise not being agate or jasper would be out of bounds. Correct @jadedvision ?

I will enter the contest this month with a ring size cab of either turritella or horn coral. The shapes have now been made and the vibe is now starting it's 10 day run.

Mine is finished, but we are all cloudy today. We have terrible picture taking light in this house and I was hoping to take pictures this morning with natural light, but no-go. Hopefully there are no clouds tomorrow and I can get 'er done and post up my cab.

OK, here's mine. It's a 9.8 x 23.2 x 3.9 mm. Imperial Jasper that's the ring stone for a matched set for earrings, pendant and ring cut from the same stone. This will be the last cab I cut for the foreseeable future as I'm beginning to pack away my equipment for a move to Dewey, AZ (near Prescott) right after Christmas. I don't know how long it will take to set up my equipment once there -- it may take a while because I'll have to do some electrical upgrades and build benches, etc. I'll have greatly enlarged shop space but getting things untangled and set up may take several months. I'm looking forward to the new situation but may not be checking in here as often as usual. Good luck to all in the contest! The Rough Preform Finished

Well, here's mine for the month's contest. It's Cold Mountain Thunderegg (Jasper). It comes in at 25.3mm x 15.5mm at its widest points. I think this is the smallest cab I've done so far...

(FYI - I might replace the main photo at some point. I'm still struggling with the camera on this POS S20U phone I bought a few months ago after my trusty S7 got killed off by those who should be ashamed of themselves for not allowing us to block their invasions into our phones ... but I digress.) I sense a little bit of anger in that sarcasm.
Beautiful cab. I know you don't usually go small, so that's pretty impressive and gorgeous material.
