Drummond Island Rocks Are 3 and 4 two sides of the same rock? or 2 different. and what are they? There's a lot going on as it appears it could not figure out what it wanted to be!! I have a load of slabs in soap right now, hope to get some pictures posted in a day or two. Henry

That is a rare one in that the pictures are more impressive then in person. Usually it is opposite but the camera picked up details I did not know were there.

One rock makes it an even more impressive piece, so much going on. I particularly like the red "Super-Nova" or "spider web" on the one side.

Ok, you got me. I'm sitting here trying to decide which one YOU think is the great one. I see several great ones. My guesses are 6, 7, 9, or 11, and I'm going to feel really silly if you chose a different one.

I would not trade that rock for all of the rest of them together. There is just so much going on in that rock. Tried playing without a different backdrop. These are a bit over exposed but the details pop

As far as your initial question...I'm still trying to tumble! LOL I've got a load that is waiting to get out of the first stage, but I've got a bunch that need to be ground down and put back through stage one. Some are waiting to go in the vibe, but I don't have enough for a full load. I've been taking advantage of the warm weather and slabbing a bunch of rocks so I have some material to cab when the weather turns nastier...and tomorrow is going to be warm enough to go hounding. Basically, I don't have enough hours in the day! LOL As far as your tumbles...yep, those are the types of tumbles I'm TRYING to achieve! I'll concur that Crazy Lace is an AMAZING specimen! You're right, there is SO much going on in that one stone! Beautiful!

I posted these same pictures to a Facebook tumbling group at the same time and the comments on FB right now are 37 as opposed to 6 here. FB likes 130 vs 7 here. My roots are here so I keep posting plus I figure if I give up and just switch to just FB that adds to the problem. Good luck with your batches. People are always surprised that I have 100 pound of rotary stage one capacity and only run one small lot-o vibe. That is how I eliminate ever waiting to run a load. I would rather have small controlled batches every week instead of one 18 or 45 pound load. The weekly polished rocks take all of the patience out of the equation. Chuck

These are a bit over exposed but the details pop Ok, there's a reason I didn't pick that one. I tumbled some crazy lace last year and I didn't like the red matrix rock that was on a lot of them. I think it was softer or porous, or undercut. I learned to not like it. Yours looks like it wasn't like that. I did like the spiderweb pattern. I didn't even notice the brecciated part until I slowed down and looked it over more carefully. I do really like those other four rocks a lot too.

Beautiful tumbles, Chuck! Every time I see your posts I realize how far I have to go to even come close to this caliber of work. The crazy lace is by far my favorite I've not seen any that looks like that before.

We are still here Chuck! It just takes a while to get everything all tumbled up 😄 The replacement motor came in for my QT66 this week and I've got it installed and running. Yay! I'm debating whether I want to start a second barrel on it today or whether that would be gluttonous lol. Previously all I had to do my runs was the single 3 lb barrel and my TV5 vibe.
I'm not a big fan of Facebook anymore. I don't like the way it sorts and weights posts. I find many of the communities on Facebook are much less helpful or friendly. Not sure why. Could just be bad luck that I found unfriendly communities I guess.
I forgot to ask... what are those beautiful orb agates that you have pictured?

More beautiful tumbles! I'm loving the crazy lace. Never get tired of it.
We appreciate you and work posting your tumbles. It's slow right now with the holidays. Lots and lots of new people keep joining. We have a TON of lurkers, too. And plenty of new people introductions that all seem to be tumblers.

I really only use Facebook for my kids sports and for a couple rock groups. It is hard to avoid it with kids. I am trying to counter some of the bad advice being given on their. Posting my photos gives my advice a little more credibility. If you meant the white ones in 7 and 8 those would be botryoidal mexican lace. Chuck

New blood is good for sure. Facebook in general is not my cup of tea but it has a really big audience. I'll keep trying to do both. Chuck

We rarely differ that much, lol #5 was my second pick. MAybe rotating the picture is better? Rolling hills, waves, tops of clouds? Chuck
