I have something ready. So, where I live we don't see much snow, hardly ever. I used this Picasso Stone that I got from Randy because it looked just like cold, dark lifeless trees, looking out over a lake. I loved working with it because it was much softer than the jaspers and agates I have been using to create cabs. It is a very forgiving and interesting stone. I just had to figure out which cab I liked best, because I created 5. So, here is winter in Texas. Rough Material First Cuts Preform Finished Cab Domed Side View

Beautiful cab! And I'm glad to hear you made it back from a very scary thing to have happen.

Hey everyone. Once again submitting my cab near the end of the deadline. I had contracted covid earlier this month and literally today was my first day after quarantine I could come back to my equipment and work on my cab. Im unsure of the material. It reminds me of snowy trees in Oregon where I lived for some time. I worked extra hard to develop a high quality setting edge and dome. I hope you guys enjoy it. Glad you are safe and hopefully completely recovered Jahic! I'm fairly certain that the material is Marfa Plume agate from Texas so that's what I will go with unless someone feels strongly about overriding that ID.

With that another fantastic contest is closed and voting will start this morning after I take care of a few things.
On a personal note I'm beating myself up for not getting my sh.. act together and getting a cab made to support the contest. 14 entries is a solid contest and so I don't regret it from that standpoint - it's just that I had the perfect piece picked out and ready to go but just never got started. My excuse is I've been working on our flooring project all month - after the latest stimulus check hit we were able to purchase the flooring to complete the four upstairs bedrooms. Anyway, the last several weeks have been pretty exhausting between laying floors and the bathroom that turned into an unexpected (light) remodel.

Tommy the photo link is broken. Whoops thanks Robin - it should be OK now - the main collage photo was broken for a few minutes but I fixed it. Maybe refresh a few times?

Actually not too hard to narrow it down. While they all seem to fit this month's theme, only a handful have the required "dome and flat back."
