Wow, I sure hope mine turn out that nice (mine are in 3 weeks of coarse)
what was your recipe, and what kind of polish did you use?
It's hard to tell from the pictures... do you have a lot of Vugs?

Oops, forgot to put in the recipe, these went 1 month 60/90 8 days 120/220 11 days 500F 13 days CPP polish
Alice, these have no vugs, they are smooth. However, I do have a batch of "seconds" which do have vugs. The "seconds" are about equal in number to this batch of "firsts", and they have been put through coarse grind, but will be run to polish only with other seconds that also have grit-trapping pits and cracks.

Beautiful ocean jasper and great shine. I need my shades! LOL! Ocean Jasper is one of my favorite stones. I have been collecting large rock rough for about the last year. With my biggest rock weighing in at 27lbs! I love the orbs too. It's amazing all the different colors and patterns they can form. I bought some from them also, but haven't tumbled them as they are bigger pieces. I want to cut them down smaller to fit in my tumbler. If you love OJ you will have to visit The Gem Shop. Someone posted some pics on their visit. You wouldn't believe all they really have to choose from. I can't wait to stop there sometime this fall while collecting apples!

P.S. I've never seen a bad piece of ocean jasper yet! They all have potential!

Absolutely beautiful! I need to put mine back and do them over. None of them have that kind of shine. Did them early on when I had no patience. I'm getting better on the patience anyway. Those turned out perfect! Trish

oops, actually mine have been rolling for about a month.
I started mine with 46/70, recharged with 46/70 at 11 days, and let it roll for another 9 ... instead of recharging with 46/70 after 20 days, I recharged with 80. So far they have been rolling in 80 for 7 days, and they don't look any different then what they did a week ago. Guess I gotta give them another shot of 80, and hope for the best.

WOW those are spectacular! My OJ seems to have the eyes sticking out of the rest of the stone (bug eyes) I guess you could call them! - they're still running in coarse! Outstanding job you did there!

Thanks everyone for all the kind comments! Debs, that was Earthdog who posted the Gem Shop pics and, yes, they were amazing. Looks definitely like a place worthy of a rockhounder's pilgrimmage. James, I'm really happy with the way these turned out.... but you are still the Ocean Jasper King .
