I bought 5 pounds of unsearched emeralds off Ebay and they came in today. I got some really nice specimens and some neat ones. I took a chance and won I think. I wonder if you can tumble emeralds or are they just cut? Maybe rumbling will take all the rock off and leave the gems. I don't know, but either way I think this is a good purchase. I'm going to share the link, but purchase at your own risk. Just because mine came out pretty good doesn't mean all purchases do. This is not my auction. www.ebay.com/itm/11500-cts-5lb-ROUGH-EMERALD-GEMS-NATURAL-UNSEARCHED-MINERAL-LOT-Lapidary-cabbing-/291224470535?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292Also, I would add pictures but I have not figured that out yet. I mainly use my phone.

Long ago we had a whole lot of Emerald tumbles attempts. I don't remember any of them turning out particularly well. The rocks just got smaller and more fractured. I think most gave up and enjoyed them for what they were- really cool specimens. Not to discourage you but I would save the nicer ones and maybe have a good on the less interesting ones. Maybe you will find a good formula that works.

In my Snakes and Stones thread I tumbled and used emeralds in matrix for photos #2, 37, 108, and 111 (so far). They can fracture and undercut depending upon the structure and surrounding stone. If you spent $20/lb.: I hope you got facet grade material.

Upon looking at these "emeralds" they are just green beryl, but still nice specimens.
And the upload file button is not working for me. Just sends me to the top of the page.

See the post above your last one. We use a third party called cloudinary. It takes a little set up but works well. You can also install the tapatalk app.

I don't use my phone for the forum, but a lot of people use the Tapatalk app for it and upload their photos through it.
Hopefully one of them will see this and give you a hand.

As others have stated...Tapatalk. I use it exclusively for posting pics to the forum. I take all pics with my phone (no other camera), so it was the easiest way to post without having to figure out Cloudinary or any other way to post pics.
As far as Emeralds...I think I remember that question being brought up before and the same answers came out...they're not generally tumbled with any success.
