So I haven't run many loads through a vibe, maybe 4 or 5, and I'm still trying to dial everything in. I have a good recipe but the biggest variable seems to be the amount of water... Just wondering if this looks OK? Thanks.

The way those ceramic media cling to the side of the bowl is interesting
Looks like you need more water and differently shaped media that's less prone to sticking to each other
Mike - I agree with a little dry.
Amygdule - My small ceramic media climbs the sides of the vibe just like this. I have a UV-18. I remember bringing this up before and several people have the same thing happen to them. Not saying it's good or bad, just seems to be pretty common.

Thanks Jason.!

looks dry as stated above. a drop or two of soap might help the side wall climbers. it should rotate clock wise while dumping into the center so sone motion is missing. I agree with amygdule about the filler as well
Well, clean out after 2 days in 120/220 and so far so good. A few stones are undercutting and one casualty. A plasma agate cab that got pulled. I'm chalking it up to inexperience. I'll learn. Thanks for looking.

Those are all looking great Mike! (Well, except for the one sacrifice to the rock gods! )
I am shocked that plasma agate took that kind of a beating...

Like I said, so far so good- still time for me to screw them up! The plasma was my bad. Some of it is tricky to work with and even though I was told by Paul to stick to certain colors when cabbing it I thought this one might make it. I'm going to have work on my listening skills!

They look real purty, Mike. Good job on them. RIP Plasma.

I actually think there's enough water in it, at the moment the video was taken anyway. I look at the ceramic media/rocks and can tell there's enough water when the two touch and start to move away from each other. You can see some liquid between that movement in your bowl, I can see the water in yours when the material is just starting to touch and as it's just moving away from each other.
I would say filling the bowl fuller with rocks and/or ceramics would help your movement and sound, I can hear the rocks banging together a bit in the video. In the sort video your rocks are all collecting on one side of the bowl and the ceramics on the other side. Seems to me like the rocks need a deeper amount of smalls/ceramics in there to float in and get good movement. I also notice that you have only small ceramic media in the bowl. I wonder if adding some of the larger ceramics would help you movement as well...?
Oh, my small ceramics sometimes collect on the side of the bowl too. I like how your keep falling back into the bowl and not outside the bowl, like mine always do.

Just my observations, good luck vibing!!
Thanks for the tips. The rocks always seem to want to go to one side, I go down every so often and turn the vibe 180 degrees. Whether or not that helps I don't know but I do it anyway. I thought I had the bowl full enough but maybe I'll order some more ceramics and try more on the next run. There is one larger stone in there that may be impeding some of the movement, too.
The ceramics always seem to line the wall and every once in a while one manages to escape!

Is the floor level? If the floor is not level I would assume it will draw everything to one side.
No I'm not drunk, I was hit on the head with a rock.
