wow, this was harder to do on the grinder than i'd anticipated! this is some picture jasper i got from one of BearCreeks eBay auctions: i think i am going to try and drill this heart and mount a post for a chain. here is a piece of Brazilian Agate i was going to call "Moon Over Manhatten" but when i got it finished it looks more like "Fried Egg Agate", lol. now, here is some stuff, i have no idea what it is, it's pretty hard and very colorful. if any of you have an idea of what this stone may be, please sing out! thanks for looking, KD

great job on that heart KD! I'm sure once you do some more, and get the hang of it, you'll be able to whip one up in no time.
Sorry, I can't help you in ID-ing that last one.

KD that's incredible, much nicer than mine - it is rather difficult to smooth out the upper curve isn't it? you did great - love how it splits in half with the light & dark - kinda like jungle fever!

"rather difficult" is putting it mildly, Tweet! actually, being a Dean Koontz fan, i'd call it Dark Rivers of the Heart, lol.
but thanks for your encouragement, Imhotep's Fury should get there, it's only been a week. (seems longer tho).
thanks,
KD

You'd get along great with my daughter and daughter-in-law, they are both Dean Koontz fans and would know what your talking about. I'm still trying to figure out what Imhotep's Fury means.

Cher you have to see "the Mummy" with Brandon Fraser - it's an egyptian type Indiana Jones movie - if you see the movie you'll know right away why I thought Imhotep's fury was so fitting...

yeh, Imhotep was a big kahuna on the ancient Egyptian scene....and i've always had a soft spot for hieroglyphs and that style of art, architecture and general mythology.

Oh .... hmmmmmmm well, like Dean Koontz books, I don't do scary movies either so I guess I'll just have to take your word for that one. *smile* I like to dream sweet dreams at night not wake the neighborhood up screaming. LOL

I'm a Steven King fan myself, even enjoyed the trilogy he wrote for children some years back. Picasso Mrble, maybe? They are all wonderful.

Stephen king wrote kids books? I've read most of them except the dark tower series... Kids books, you mean "it"?

The dark tower series was GREAT. I can't remember the name of the kids series, but he brought it down to the level of a 13 yr old (kinda like Harry Potter). It was fantasy, a little scarey, but definitely not "It". (I hated the movie, loved the book) If you read Steven King, you won't have a problem with Dean Koontz, they actually co wrote and ghost wrote together.

lol@Kim, yeh "look into my pendant, you are getting sleepy, you WILL order eggs for breakfast and leave me a very large tip..."

KD how did you do that heart you posted last time? with the dremel??

this is my first attempt on a heart shape, Tweet. and this was on the grinder (Genie).
Cher did one with a dremel, i think....Kim did some on the grinder, too.

I gotta go with cookie on the picasso marble guess for the third one. They're all drool-worthy. Do you need a grinder to do that heart? I've been considering trying my hand at some shaping.

it was a lot harder than the Picasso Marble i got from Kim, tho....and had a lot more color in it.
i don't think a grinder is necessary to do heart shapes, in fact i found it rather difficult and it may be easier with a dremel.
good to see ya, Herm!

Yuppers, I did a heart with my dremel but I didn't do the indent deep enough. It still looks like a heart but not as nice as KD's. It was better when I first did it but in the tumbler it lost a lot. This is slightly larger than a quarter in size.
