Since I am going to be the recipient of quite a lot of rocks in the next week or so, I was thinking it would be fun to give a little something back to the folks here at RTH.
For those that missed the excitement, there was a "little" auction over in the Marketplace to raise funds for Proboards. Quite a few folks donated some amazing looking rocks and there will be quite a few boxes arriving at my house over the next few days. The fun part is, nobody actually has any idea how much all of those packages will weigh. The generous folks who donated may know the weight of one or two boxes, but not all. Given the wonderful donations they made, it's only fair that they have a tiny advantage in this little contest.
So what's the contest? Guess the total weight of all of the boxes. Easy peasy.
How long will this contest last? Since the Post Office is still experiencing a few delays in my area, I have no idea how long it will take for all the boxes to arrive, but I will allow guesses until midnight Eastern time on the last day a box arrives.
How many guesses do you get? Let's start with 1 a day. In the event someone guesses the same weight, then the first person to make that guess will count.
What do you get out of it? How about a $25 gift card to Rock Shed. In the event of a tie, the closest guesses will all get a $25 gift card.
Can we make this more interesting? Why not! Since I have no idea when the last box will arrive, let's add a second guess for the total weight of the first 5 boxes to arrive. If more than 1 box is delivered on the day that the 5th box arrives, the boxes will be counted in the order from heaviest to lightest on that day to figure out the 5th box. Guesses for the total weight of the first 5 boxes will be good until midnight Eastern of the day the 5th box arrives. I will announce the winner the next day for both phases of the contest. Prize for the total weight of the first 5 boxes will be the same as the overall weight, so a $25 gift card to Rock Shed.
