Interesting how closely that resembles Bloodstone... Is that what it is? Unless it's petrified wood or Montana agate I'm just guessing anyways.

Oh heck...don't rely on ME for a positive ID...but it sure as heck looks like it to me. This is what geology.com had to say: "Bloodstone Localities Most bloodstone used today is mined and cut in India. Other sources of bloodstone include Australia, Brazil, China, and Madagascar. In the United States, small deposits of bloodstone have been found in California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington." I'm curious what some others have to say. I'll tag stephan and put him on the spot for some input!

I found a roll of chicken wire and finally got around to cleaning up some of my rock mess. Before After Plus a couple of cool ones out of the pile.

Nice cleanup! Now it looks like you have room for 10 times the amount of rocks! Love the banding in that last one.

Fresh cut and drop tested. One of the troubles with finding river agates.

All the drop test did was save the heartache from happening later on down the road. I think there's some great possibilities for some nice cabs out of those pieces.

Nice haul! Looks like you found a rock picking paradise.
I recognize Unakite, I get exactly one point.
