Thanks Stephan! I think this is the "coolest" amount of fortifications I've held in my hand all at once! (SO FAR! ) I’ll say! The two with lots of yellow and white at the center are the coolest. Amazing contrast on those. I totally agree! I've got a couple more pieces that came from those rocks with the yellows, but I'm holding onto those for now.

Beautiful work, my friend! I've had my share of fractured teepees and I feel your pain!

Beautiful work, my friend! I've had my share of fractured teepees and I feel your pain! Thanks Mike! The odd thing on that break, I didn't even see a fracture in that spot. I'd seen some other little ones in other places, but it definitely surprised the heck out of me when it split. Luckily I still have a "few" others to work! LOL

Some more beautiful cabs my friend! That last one is a real heart breaker! I would comfort myself with the thought that it wasn't one of those awesome yellow ones you posted on the 4th of July!! Plus, you live close enough to get more practice material, if needed.

I'll get grinding on one and I think it's going to be fantastic, then BAM. It splits.

Beautiful cabs, Jason! Sorry that one split on you, but you'll still get a real pretty cab out of the bigger piece.

Plus, you live close enough to get more practice material, if needed. Thanks Jesse! I'm a little more confident about those last ones I posted on the 4th. I just dopped up most of those this morning. I should be ready to work on them in a day or two. I probably have enough Teepee Canyon material to last me through the year...saying that, it might make one think I'm not going to go back down there this summer...I laugh at that thought! LOL (Of course I'm going back...soon! LOL) Thanks Mike! The odd thing on that break, I didn't even see a fracture in that spot. I'd seen some other little ones in other places, but it definitely surprised the heck out of me when it split. Luckily I still have a "few" others to work! LOL That's what happens to me as well. I'll get grinding on one and I think it's going to be fantastic, then BAM. It splits. I will admit I did say a word or two that I learned when I was in the Army...you know...the ones that can't be said in mixed company! LOL Beautiful cabs, Jason! Sorry that one split on you, but you'll still get a real pretty cab out of the bigger piece. Thanks Robin! I have to admit, I've struggled with "reworking" cabs when they break. However, I think this one might be the breakthrough (pun intended) I need to get better at it!

Here's a polished piece with smoky quartz center I love it! I've seen several examples of tumbles or cabs being posted lately with the "live edge" still intact...and this is a great example of one that definitely deserved to have that edge remain! Gorgeous!

Gorgeous! Thanks Jason. Man your cabs are amazing ... finding such beauties and keeping them intact to finished cabs is no small feat. I've tumbled many with mostly lousy results but every now and then a survivor lol. I finally got my wheels running and finished some odds and ends over the weekend:

Thanks Tim! I really appreciate that! I love what you did with these...and the polish is fantastic! I really like that last one...it looks like a Texas Longhorn!

Enough for a few decent cabs... Not been to this place yet. Will have to put it on the to do list! Good to see what they look like in nature. Always wonder how many I walk right by until I spot one....

Always wonder how many I walk right by until I spot one.... Unlike Fairburns, which someone can walk over 100s if the fortifications are turned downward, Teepee Canyon Agate nodules are pretty recognizable. A lot of times you'll see the red fortifications showing. Most times you'll need a hand sledge to break up rocks to find hidden nodules...

Wow tims, I didn’t think Teepees could be tumbled. I wasn’t sure the host rock would hold up to the abuse. Those tumbles look great!! I have a Teepee sample that I didn’t get from jasoninsd 😁 but from the old timers collection… still didn’t collect it myself. I like how the cut displays the fortifications and gives a bit of 3D effect to it also. It sits nicely on a shelf as well.

Of course I love the fortification, but the matrix on that one really looks cool as well! You're right about the 3D effect is pretty wicked!

Yeah, I thought the matrix looked a little different with the big red spots.
Do you ever find any with the red matrix?
