Oh daaaaaamn! Beautiful bunch, Jason! Big time score! π Thanks Mike! If you look at the pic, there's a row of four on the top and a row of three on the bottom. The preform on the right end of the bottom row of three - that's that one that Eric found and traded you for...and I cut. I've got the rest of the pieces sitting in a ziplock bag with your name on it, waiting for the next time we meet up. colorful Fireworxs Jase might even abrade a spark good stuff Thanks Ed! Funny you mention it. When I was cutting them on the trim saw, there were a couple times a few little sparks were flying!

cool Jason I dig it when sparks fly
another thing I liked is when I'd see the image of cab reflected in the streaming water on the wheel
I suppose that occurs on the slant and that working out well for ya ?
any other new grinding additions?

Dang, that's cool! I've never seen the reflection of the cab on the slant cabber... It's not working out too badly. It's really difficult to do any cabs with a straight edge on them...so I'm tending to do teardrops and ovals most of the time. I don't have any new additions...the last new thing I got was the 8k and 14k disks for the cabber.

Thanks 'dule! It really does look similar to the "Scream" face with those eyes! LOL - I know I've got another slab that I haven't cut yet that looks like it has a Chinese dragon head on it. It came out of the same rock, so it's the same red and white wide bands...

That is another incredible batch of Teepees!
Have they moved up to the top of your favorites list yet??

That is another incredible batch of Teepees! Have they moved up to the top of your favorites list yet?? Thanks Brian! I was thinking of that same sort of question when I was working these this weekend. I believe they have unquestionably moved to the top of my "favorite to work" list - without exception! However, Fairburns are still at the top of the "favorite to find" list. One of the reasons they're at the top of the favorite to work list...they have fortifications! LOL - It's not just that they have fortifications, it's the tremendous variations to the fortification banding...some are very intricate, while others have a wider banding to the fortifications. They also take a pretty great polish...so that's a big plus! LOL

A great polish is just icing on the cake then! The variety of the patterns, including some very nice druzy pockets, and the bold colors are certainly enough to catch my eye. I love the ones that have yellow and white in them.

I love the ones that have yellow and white in them. I'm so surprised at how drawn I am to the ones with the yellow in them. It's not even close to my favorite color! LOL Dang, that's cool! I bet it is due to the black background...that makes sense!

A most appropriate day for sparks to fly! Beautiful stones Jason and Happy 4th to ya all! Thanks Quartz! It's too dry for fireworks here (in my opinion...not legally), so I guess this was my own way of putting out a few sparklers today! Happy 4th to you too.

Here's a shot of some preforms I cut today. They'll be entering the lineup here in the next couple days. Definitely a colorful bunch this time.
They are beautiful! Excellent preform selection. They are going to be even more gorgeous when they're finished.

There's one (the 2nd one from the left in the row of four) which is a little thin, so it'll be a challenge as it'll need to be a wickedly low dome. However, I'm excited to see how all these are going to turn out. I've got some other pieces that I should do before these (some Fairburn and Dino Bone and others) as they've been waiting in the wings for awhile now...but once again, Teepee Canyon Agates might just jump the line! LOL

LOL Jason, you can always back that thin one to make it thicker and easier to cut. That is, of course, unless you're looking forward to the challenge of cutting a wickedly low dome.

WOW! Those are extreme. Can't wait to see the cabs. Thanks Beth! Now...as long as I don't mess them up in the "next" stage! LOL Thanks Robin! Thanks Robin! LOL - Sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees! LOL - I think I'll hold onto that one and do just that! I have some other stuff that should be backed (some nice gemmy Dino Bone)...so maybe I'll tuck that one away for a future "project"!
